the expression “gate keeper” echoes in the world of boxing. the likes of amir khan, adrian broner and so many. Who are very talented but never able to beat the champions, but manage to beat the guys who are trying to knock on the door of world level.

Is this now a tag that fits pakistan. a team able to beat the likes of wi, sri lanka, bangladesh and afghanistan. However when they step up to world level they get crushed by the likes of england, australia, and india.

like when andy ruiz beat aj and shocked the world, and the book makers, pakistan are able to beat the top sides on occasion. But this is a anomaly and not the norm. Just the way we don’t see the likes of any ruiz and busta douglas beat the likes of aj and mike tyson on the regular.

As fans do we just accept they are now gate keepers. enjoy beating the lower ranks and just enjoy the game. with the odd upset against a top side.

Is this something you can come to accept or would this stop you following pakistan, or even the sport all together?

Pakistan barely won against Afghanistan in the WC, lost to the WI in the same WC, lost to a weak SriLanka at home just a few weeks ago. I think you are being very flattering to them.

"Barely" isn't a thing. We won that's it.
Even India "barely" won against them but that doesn't mean anything because they did win.

Except it is a thing especially when talking about Pakistan being some kind of gatekeepers.

We have been for quite some time and I only see us declining further the same way we did in Hockey.

I'm not usually this pessimistic but I think very soon we'll see a Bangladeshi team beat us in a test series comprehensively.
