In terms of attending matches, I would actually go as far as to say they're the best overall including Pakistan itself but that's just my opinion. I have attended games in Pakistan and they're a great bunch of fans too. I feel that one of the reasons that Pakistan has done well in England historically is partly down the support they receive from the UK based Pakistan fanbase.

Recent examples being the CT even though it was during Ramadan so we couldn't get the numbers out we usually would and of course the Test matches this year will be also. But usually, it's the LOI matches where they make their presence felt. After being thrashed in the ODI series in 2016, I remember there was a huge turn out at the one off T20 in Manchester and it seemed like the English players were visibly shaken by the intense atmosphere generated by the green hordes. The England team simply melted in the heat.

One of my earliest recollections of the fans coming to prominence was the WC 99, there was the infamous pitch invasions and the fantastic support at places such as Leeds where Pakistan pulled of a memorable victory against Australia. The noise, the atmosphere, the party buses and the colour makes for a really fantastic spectacle.

We have been blanked in places like Australia but even when we've had a mediocre side, we have still managed the odd victory in England, the case being in 2010 Test match and drawn series six years later. Of course there has been some occasions when we couldn't inspire the team despite coming out in force like the CT 13 but that team was truly mediocre.

Invariably, the passion shown by the UK fans gives them a connection to Pakistan that they may not otherwise have apart from family relations. The flair, the aggression, the success of teams past and present is something that has given us much joy over the years. Hopefully the fans continue to lend their fantastic support everytime the team lands on these shores and that they can still provide the entertainemnt and success that we expect.

I went to that T20 in Manchester. Amazing atmosphere... it felt like we were in Pakistan. Hardly saw any England fans there lol.

The players were really engaged with the crowd as well. Wahab was noticeably pumped up.

Pakistan fans in UK are pretty great. I've been to a few Pakistani games and they really cheer on the team and are quite fun company. babajee you were very lucky to go to Manchester for that T20. I remember watching it on TV and even from there I could tell how good the atmosphere seemed. For a one off T20 as well. Wow. I went to the CT match between Pakistan and West Indies in 2013 and even though we lost it was still a great day out

Seems like you havent seen any matches involving India in England then? :shh

Just by pure numbers in an all Ind v Pak ( in England)matches which I have seen on the telly, indian fans comfortably outnumber pakistani fans by 4:1 so i dont know where have you drawn out your theory from.

I know for a fact that India has the Barmy Army version called Bharat Army that actually organises overseas tours for Indian fans... not heard of a Pakistani version :cobra

Did we ask about India?

Read the thread title maybe? It said best overseas fans? So im presuming it meant fans of all countries overseas? :genius

It was pretty fun goading that many Indians after CT final 💚💚😂😂😂😂😂

Not by the end of the CT final match though. :amir2

Hmm, I'm pretty sure it would have been another reason since it was a Sunday. :P

hmm come to think of it, the tubes dont run as frequently on a sunday thats why people left early... not because our team selection was utter tripe which led to us being demolished by a better team on the day. :dada

I’m sure you guys are the best Pak team supporters. I have been to most of the cricket world cups since 2007, in WI, NZ and Australia. I’m planning to go to 2019 WC and I’m sure will enjoy games there, particularly due to Pak team supporters.

Quick Question regarding the below quote Kroll and I am asking this for just to put some perspective...

Which venues have you attended in Pakistan?

UK definitely has great Pakistani fans who show up on the ground. Even on TV's, their prescence can be felt. I'd personally love to go to the UK for the world cup next year and join these fans.

Not many attend Test matches. So no, I wouldn't say they are the best.

It's a shame that Pakistan never plays in Toronto because if they did, these sort of threads would never be made.

:)))

Were you there? Please share some of these encounters.

Yes they are. Even people who don't follow cricket will attend games to soke up the atmosphere.

Lahore, don't get me wrong, this was a great experience as well. With Karachi now getting some action, hopefully we will see some amazing crowds at all the Pak venues when international cricket fully returns.

In the last few years lots of Indian groups from India have organised trips to England for the matches and there are a disproportionate number of tickets allocated for Indians during Pak v India games, which is obviously corruption at the highest level.

Having said that, watching the CT final it looked very close to 50/50 and being to a Pak/India match before, it was pretty much 50-50 too.

But this is beyond the numbers, its about the atmosphere created and Pakistani fans were the originators of the horns, specific player related chants and the "Pakistan Zindabad" chants, which the Indians copied into "Jai Hind". The English fans even make fun of tha trubbish.

The atmosphere that day was amazing.

It felt like the match was in Multan not Manchester.

Incredible experience to be there.

Has to be, seeing the scenes of victory of Champions Trophy Final.... I only wish I could be there

To top it all off, we played a near flawless game of cricket. Hadn’t seen that sort of dominating performance from us for a while.

I went to a few matches over the 2016 tour and the atmosphere was incredible!

The worst thing to have happened to Pakistan cricket was the spot fixing fiasco. Had it not happened, Pakistan could have played in England, resulting in more fans attending, more revenue, better quality batsman

The next WC is in ENG so I might attend. Always found the U.K. based PAK crowd fascinating.

I dont want to rain on your parade and trumpet blowing but compare Indian population with Pakistani population and then look at your boastful post.

You can find indians and chinese in every part of the world.

Definitely the best overseas crowd in terms of quantity/quality but that does not says a lot considering out of all cricket playing nations, the country where most Pakistanis live in outside of Pakistan is England.

And to anyone else who has posted their experiences or has their own ideas about it...

Do you think the fans have been a contributing factor to Pakistan's performances over the last three decades in England?

That's a great question.

In the ODIs I have been to featuring Pak v anyone (in England), the fans support certainly seems to have raised the pace of our bowlers, made the batsmen hit harder and generally raised the on field game. The horns, the shouts of Zindabad, the green...its so great.

Definitely pumps the players up hearing thousands of fans in a foreign nation cheer you on instead of hearing their voices echo in an empty stadium in the UAE.

But my guess is our success in England is due to our players exposure of county cricket over the years; the pitches being slower than in AUS or SAF where we get spooked by the bounce but generally good for batting with ball coming nicely onto bat; our ability to get reverse swing at drier grounds like Old Trafford and The Oval; and the excellent Dukes ball which our fast bowlers have always enjoyed bowling with.

Hold a match in Toronto and we will show what real support looks like.

How many world-class stadiums does Canada have let alone Toronto ?

I mean that is a redundant question with regards to the thread, since it is about overseas support for the Pakistan cricket team and not the quality of grounds, and for the record Toronto has an international standard ground where matches have previously been held. Keep in mind hardly anyone plays cricket in Canada while it is the second biggest sport in UK.

Sad to recall that the openers were Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan.

I was in the media box that day and even the UK media were saying it was like an away match for England.

Would be good support.

I don't remember much from the Sahara Cup that was held in Toronto twenty years ago apart from a raging Inzi wading into the crowd with his bat to beat the living daylights out of some Indian lout. :inzi
