I wanted to address a matter that has been on my mind regarding the BCCI's decision to continue playing matches against Pakistan. As you know, India is a 4 trillion dollar economy, and the potential revenue lost by completely boycotting games against Pakistan would be relatively insignificant for India—just a few hundred million a year, which is peanuts in the grand scheme of things.

Given the narrative that Pakistan has been promoting terrorism in the region and has been responsible for the deaths of Indian soldiers and innocent civilians, I am left wondering why the BCCI did not take the initiative to boycott these matches. Has the BCCI let down India by continuing to engage in these games?

Whatever the outcome of this decision, I find it quite shameful. I believe that a stronger stance should have been taken, considering the gravity of the situation.

Yes dear.

I didn’t want India to engage with Pakistan immediately after the war just ended. To me that was insensitive. I wanted a cool off period of a few months. After the cool off period, I would have no problem in resuming cricket matches with Pakistan, including handshakes, just like normal.

That being said, that is me as an emotional human and it’s important to learn this lesson that countries are not run on emotions, neither is diplomacy played that way, so although it was not an ideal thing, I still understand the rationale that why to offer walk overs to your so called enemy nation in global tournaments.

It’s easy to say these things in anger that we will boycott this and that but when it actually happens and your opponent gets the walkovers, it’s you who end up with eggs on your face. I’m pretty sure Bangladesh do feel stupid right now for their antics, nobody will openly admit but that’s the feeling they must be getting. Many Pakistani fans will feel the same way on 15th Feb. Of course nobody would admit right now.

I can guarantee you most Bangladeshis are not feeling that. Cricket is not important enough for that.

I am very happy BD didn't go to India even if it means BD sit out a World Cup. World Cups come and go. Safety/security/self-respect always comes first. :inti

We are good, Pakistan have now taken a hard stance against India and that it good. This should have been done years ago.

Aammhh - if we talk about social media i think many Indians are pissed that why they didnt this kinda stance first, why Pakistan did it first.

India was threatening about boycott since decades, all the hoopla of jawans blood and all but in the end as always $$$ >> blood of soldiers for BCCI and their govt, so thats why they always went with the double standards of no bilaterals but yeah we cant giveup on ICC matches coz of MONEY.

But i sincerely hope, that Pakistan is going to stick with this decision for now, doesnt matter if group match or knockout match ( i doubt though, cant trust these politicians).

Well Bangladesh (except cricketers) had nothing to lose. Just another tournament with first or second stage exit. So there is that.

No.

The BCCI is arrogant, it’s over commercialised but it it tries (often unsuccessfully) to stay within the terms of a contract, especially given its position as a global leader.

So I was ok with India playing back then because I believe that BCCI had contracts to fulfill.

This time is different. All said and done, noise and bluster aside, PCB has reneged on a contract and now I think it could be open season.

We all know, its not about Contract its only about all the money invovled.

BCCI can earn double the money if they start playing bilateral series with Pakistan. But we boycott it .

People's talk about india - Pakistan playing multiple times in Asia cup but forget that india doens't take any profit share but distribute own profit share to the associate teams.

If all talk about money then these things would not have happened.

Real fact not propaganda like Pakistanis posters spread.
