Are Sam Konstas and Jake Fraser-McGurk most overhyped Australian players of recent time?

Must be good to be Jake Fraser-Mcgurk and Sam konstas . I genuinely think Both are the most over rated players ive ever seen

JFM Averaging 14 in ODI, 16 T20I, 19 FC, 26 LA and 20 in 85 T20s, yet you still consistently get picked for your country simply because you were highly over rated

I don't know what to say. This 5 foot hack hasn't learnt anything the past 2 years. He bats the same way as he used to do earlier. No feet movement, swinging blindly with thin air and throwing his wicket away for fun. He is meant for golf not cricket.

In six innings against West Indies, Sam Konstas has made 50 runs at 8.33 .

when i saw his batting , for a moment i started thinking that how did this ugly looking batter even made his place in the Australian team? He was just a blind slogger nothing more than that .

Both are most overrated players from Australia since Long long time .

Jake Fraser-McGurk Is the T20 Sam Konstas and they both suck . Both need to be thrown out as soon as possible.:kp

An OP designed to rage bait me lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Nice try though. Victory for me knowing I live in everyone's heads rent free.

Anyway both are good batters and will eventually become Legends.

Early days. Within 35 innings, they'll be future All Time Greats

Atleast aus selectors got it right by picking a hack like Jfm in t20 format.persisting with him with out any results is questionable. Sam is completely a fraud selection. He don't have any defence .He plays like a night watchman by driving at a good length ball at 6 th stump. Even if u interchange both of them in other formats, they remain clueless and hacks.Bishop on record ridiculed his selection too.

Highlights package of his 50 in 6 innings 😀

They are only hyped by brother @mominsaigol tbh lol so it seems you have created a thread to target just one person.

Although in the case of JFM didn't you guys pay him millions to play IPL so he can smash around your bowlers while Indians do bhangra in the crowd.

I guess the joke is on you then.

McGurk does not have the power or the levers to be a stand and deliver T20 hitter.

Not by Aussie standards anyway. Marsh, Green and Owen are all very long and strong and while they can succeed with minimal footwork , JFMcG cannot.

Both are extremely overhyped. But they have both been brutally exposed for now. The hype will die down slowly.

Mate, not many people rate JFM. At this point, he is basically seen as a sure failure who might come good.

To answer the question, nope. We've had the likes of Moises Henriques, Dan Cullen, Ashton Agar, Phil Hughes who were all hyped up to the moon but failed to deliver.

Strong statement, could perhaps be cheapening what an ATG means.

As an aside, one of these guys (McGurk) hasn’t played a Test year which I’d say you need to do be even considered for ATG category. His FC batting average in 17 games is below 20; with 1 hundred and 1 fifty. He probably won’ t make the Australian team on those numbers.

And right now both guys are fighting time: it’s a question of just being selected for and getting through 5 innings (Test), far less a 35 innings horizon. Australian selectors can be ruthless.

They’re talented, of course. But right now it’s odds on whether they stay in the team for the next two or three series, far less making ATG.

Mate, he is just playing around. @mominsaigol loves a bit of banter and to wind up certain posters ;)

Its just like u are recruiting a supposedly good hr/senior manager to beat the crap out of ur own company employess for ur benefit.if the person can't do it, you will get one more pricey one.

Higher the roast ,higher the stock.

No one rates these 2. It's clear they aren't good. I just found it funny that Indians are the ones who purchased JFM for millions and konstas trolled Bumrah lol.

IPL has multiple teams and too many brains. You cant pin down every selection in IPL to Indian fans. JFM was highly talked about by Ponting and he influenced his selection. Just like how SRK jumped onto buy 37 year old Azhar Mehmood as soon as he got British Passport...so much love.

However, both Konstas and JFM are tad overhyped in international arena for a team like Australia. Konstas's biggest achievement will always be getting elbowed from Kohli. That gimmic alone gave him immense popularity. Batting is secondary for him.

Yeah ignore the fact that he owned and slapped bumrah and exposed the myth.

They dont have much hype in the international arena it's the opposite.

On PP they were only hyped by one poster who is a passionate Aussie fan and wanted to give platform to some players.

I can mention the IPL selection to those fans who do bhangra that our league has paid XYZ big bucks to these players and then take digs at other countries like the OP has done in the past.

Some Indians seem to have personal grudge against these players and we must call out the criticism when it gets unnecessary and over the top.

They are both poor. They wouldn’t be anywhere near the national team in previous eras but Australia are in the middle of a major batting crisis, probably their biggest ever in history.

They are one of the worst batting sides in the world across formats and it will only get worse when Smith retires from Tests, which might happen after the Ashes.

Having said that, it’s funny coming from Indians when Konstas got under your skin and rattled Bumrah and Kohli, while DC have spent crores on JFM.

Jfm and Konstas are not bad players.

Ik CA is selecting them for a reason. They will eventually become legends
Both are not great, they can come good eventually perhaps.

It makes me worried for cricket if a top tier nation like Australia is playing these players at this stage of their career. This is a genuine concern for the game whereas the OPs attempt at criticism is see through.

He is angry that a player like Konstas shattered one billion dreams in a series they had hyped to the moon as the greatest test series ever, and angry that after taking millions and making Indians twerk in the stands, that JFM refused to return to the IPL after PAF stunned the world with their decimation of India.

Us fans who care about the sport and it's future mustn't allow this type of criticism to infiltrate our great sport else it will make Facebook comment sections and Indian rickshaw driver type debates mainstream.

Is Sam kontas Australia's worst Test batsman in the last 30 years? I think so

Don’t know which type generational talent he is as hyped by delusional and wannabe fans

:kp

You clearly never watched Nic Maddinson.
Madison was perhaps discarded too early. He could have got a good run in current Australia set up but back then selectors were more ruthless.

He played against Pakistan alongside players like Renshaw, Jackson Bird and Handscomb. All four of these players had potential but never had long test careers. Renshaw in particular seemed to be a player that would peg down the opener spot for years to come.

Only reason I remember this as we almost made a world record chase but fell short in the end.

4 innings, 27 runs @ an average of 6.75 with highest score of 22. Poor fella probably goes down in history as statistically our worst test batsman ever, maybe of all time in Test cricket even.

Renshaw is having a bit of resurgence atm, though.

Sam is definitely nobody atm. JFM has had some hits and misses. Not gonna multipy them with zero yet but they both need to catch up fast.

Both are biggest Fraud in the cricketing world to play cricket for Australia . In few year's they will be history not even wannabe fans remember them :kp

Renshaw very likely to make his ODI debut next month against the Saffers. Should have happened last year against Pakistan but it looks like OZ selectors have finally got their senses back

In even better news, Weatherald, Sangha, Patterson and Peake are having strong Australia A games too. One of the opening spots in the Ashes is basically Weatherald's to lose atm.

Also, would like to see the new messiah Peake given a debut at some point this summer.
