Taking cue from the legendary thread, are South Africans being cautious on the field to avoid burn out so that they can be fresh for the IPL and the next Sri Lankan series ??

Discuss.

You do understand that the other thread turned out to be correct - the big players all miraculously recovered to play against Australia!

But lacking in intensity/energy still. Should have rested Rabada and Morkel in ODIS as well.

You conveniently ignored the argument raised regarding the bowlers not being rested? Why did Rabada, Ngidi and Morkel play most matches?

He will come up with a weird explanation that they are made to play all the matches to be match fit for the Aussie series 😂😂

Recovered to get smashed by 300 runs? :)))

Probably would have done better with the second string players.

Do Runs And Wickets Against South Africa Really Matter

Taking cue from another legendary thread, considering the way which South Africa are playing since the Indian Limited Overs Series, do runs and wickets against South Africa really matter ?

bhai, I am with you. They were definitely saving themselves for the marquee series. Just that playing against India gave the saffers a false sense of security and they thought they could roll over Australia after beating the number 1 team.

You do understand that bowlers are the ones who have the most workload and both rabada and morkel played 5 of the 6 odis. Quinton got injured after 3 matches and you would know that it takes a week to recover from an injury and that is the the time in which series was over.
Faf's comeback even for the first test against aus was not confirmed and he just made the squad. Abd returned after 3rd odi as was expected.
The seniormost player amla played all the 6 odis as well.

Your points do hold true for t20 series and it was official statement by the sa team as well regarding resting players. As far as odis are concerned till you can challenge the points above your opinion does not hold any value. It only shows your bittetness towards indian team doing well in foreign conditions.

The intensity is just not there. Probably want to go back home and take complete rest than play this meaningless series.

As pointed out by a prestigious poster, Pakistan took test series against NZ (2016) as a practice series - eventually allowing themselves to get white washed just so that they could be fit for the Ozzie series......where they got white washed too but showed great spirit and had the greatest attendance ever.

This looks like a similar case. Expecting a lot of people to turn up to watch IPL this time.

A pathetic attempt at ridiculing one of the most knowledgeable and sensible posters PP is proud to have. It was evident to all that South Africa fielded a second choice team against India in ODIs and T20s. Right now they are full strength its just that Australia is at another level right now and are the true #1 test team in the world.

Expected thread S.A. are just rusty from savimg them selves .Just all that saving will help third test onwards

Delusion personified ... knowledgeable and sensible poster :ashwin :bhajji :trump

The one who says 'does runs vs SL count?' (His own team loses at home vs SL)

Also the guy has audocity to speak for whole country that 'WC'92 not important' and PPers here still support him

Ofcourse IPL is important for families earning priority wise. You surely dont want to miss such a big event as far as earning is concerned.

SA players, afterall, dont get as much money as BCCI, ECB and CA gave to their players.

TBH I really find it surprising that Duplesis, ABD and QDK all were injured few weeks ago against India and all became fit for the Aus tests?
