Good to have it out on Twitter with the most powerful man on the planet but is that a foolhardy approach?

Will it backfire?

Imo he did the right thing. Imagine how Pakistan would be if we stayed out of the WOT. The USA needs to understand Pakistan suffered alot becauae of them.

To date he has handled it as well as he could, absolute transparency, and has shown more spine in firing back than previous PM's could ever have dreamed of.

Of course that may have consequences, but this is why he has always been admired in Britain, he is a very straightforward man of integrity. Can we say that about the Zardari or Sharif clans?

IMO IK should’ve reminded Trump that Pakistan are a Nuclear state and will not bow down to them like the previous government did.

He has done well.

Living a cowardly life is what the previous politicians and army chiefs have done, the reason why Pakistan got involved in the war of terror which caused thousands of deaths and ruined the nation. Sure the intelliegence services were helping the Afghan resistance and rightly so but being part of state terrorism against people in your own region and in your nation, is the lowest of the low.

Ik should go further and stop all involvement in the war of terror, America can only place some sanctions, nothing else.

Is it a WWE? you see something while behind the scene reality is something else. USA and Pak have a very interesting relationship and can't be judged it on the face value.

Not sure.
Pakistan could end the US presence in Afghanistan tomorrow by announcing a permanent end to the supply routes for US forces to Afghanistan. What's the US government going to do, try that ridiculous Northern Route strategy long term? The political climate in DC right now is pretty anti-Russian and while Trump may have a good relationship with Putin, he's also very isolationist. Having it out with him doesn't seem to mean much.
IK may talk, but in the mean time, behind the scenes, I think he's more focused on focusing Pakistani problems and won't refuses to give any ear to the problems of others unless the Pakistani problem is solved first.

Are you insinuating that Pakistan can threaten the USA with nuclear missiles if the latter asks Pakistan to do its bidding in Pakistan?

Yes. Imran did the right thing. Now the left will fight for Pakistan’s positive perception and what they did for the WoT. Not because they care for Pakistan but because they hate trump so much.

Pakistan only benefits from this.

Why a competent and qualified leader matter.

Trump regurgitated what he probably had heard on FOX news by someone who claimed to be journalist, let’s be honest, most if not all at Fox News are selling hate, xenophobia, racism, and ignorance to white America to make $$.

It also shows that he does not understand politics and geopolitics, but any onyone with tiny brain knew that.

IK responded with facts and correct stats to show the people of Pakistan that he would openly speak against those who try to malign Pakistan with false made up facts, only a competent and qualified leader can do that.

We are talking about the defense of Pakistan. Not about an attack on any state.

Might wanna release Abottabad commission report to create a consistent narrative, at least for the sake of posterity. Otherwise our current government will be saying one thing and the future government will be saying something else. I would reserve my judgment on IK’s handling of the issue for now.

Only a fool would try and bargain with Donald Trump or attempt to outmaneouvre him with cunning diplomacy. Macron got burned badly with his ham-fisted attempt at currying favour with the sickeningly contrived bosom buddy double act. Trump will do what he wants and be driven by his instinct and the baying demands of his base rather than listen to reason or logic. I think Imran Khan has done well to realize this. We'll need to treat the US with kid gloves as long as Trump remains president.

Today USA are negotiating with Taliban so it seems to be somewhat working.

I think he could do better. He needs to think of increasing Pak's trade and skills ties with the US which india has taken advantage of big time. Some of that outsourcing and tech $$ could come Pakistan's way if the government plays its cards right, especially with how devalued the ruppee is and India and China are getting more expensive. Only way Pakistan will stabilise is if it has a strong economy and it needs to engage better with the strongest economy in the world to do that. India was very unstable until they got their economy going now we need to do the same.

This is the language they understand, for so many years pakistan has kneel down to them, its time to show some spine.
