They’re developing Rajgir international cricket stadium near Patna for this.

All those who laugh and look down upon Bihar and Biharis must realize this is arguably the last generation that is able to do it. Bihar is developing fast and within a couple of generations (30-50 years), Bihar will be a trillion dollar economy and a major industrialised state and job creator in the country.

Also to correct any wrong conceptions such as @Rajdeep / @Bhaijaan might have. Without any bias, there are definitely people who watch IPL in Pakistan but its a minority. I personally have never seen someone watch IPL in Pakistan in last 7/8 years at least. Pakistanis are not as cricket crazy as Indians i guess.

There is a reason nobody bought IPL rights in Pakistan for ages, and even when some company bought it, it was a financially weak company like Geo Super as they mostly can not afford to broadcast Pakistan’s international matches. Even now a small company like tapmad, which is an online streaming platform with a small sub base has bought the rights.

Dont take comments to hurt your nationalistic egos. Im just sharing facts. If you guys watch PSL in your bars and follow it. Good for you.

Oh this was during PTI govt, my bad. I take my comments back. But that means IPL was shown for almost 11 years until it was banned by pti govt. 11 years, at that time, i was in Pakistan and IPL was barely watched by folks here.

cricket viewing is different. So you wont find people like me or you tuning into the game specifically.

Games like IPL or cricket in general is being watched by shop keepers etc. IPL in particular gained attention cause of the big names and Indian cricketers.

Back in 2013 or 14 i think there was an innings that Gayle played and there was alot of hype of it in Pakistan.

The league was generating good enough views that made Geo super relevant.

To this day i want Pakistani players to play IPL just so that I can get an idea of our players based on an IPL auction

no, I don’t follow PSL either. Infact the only time I watch cricket these days is in world tournaments, where Pakistan routinely fail unfortunately. Outside of this, I just check cricinfo for scores when Pak play bilaterals.

I only watched the PSL final last year when it comes to league cricket.

So watching the IPL seems like a long shot but maybe will try to catch a few games to see how things are now. The last time I watched must have been an IPL final 4-5 years ago.

Not envious at all -- If Pakistani players were playing in it, Pakistanis would watch. But since Pak players have been boycotted, why would Pakistanis be interested in watching it? Simple as that.

IpL has lost interest in Pakistan and its a fact. Ask majority of cricket fan in Pakistan and he would not be able to name all IPL teams another fact.

I've never watched the ipl. I don't have any hard feelings r.e. what happened with the CT, I'm just fed up of LO cricket, both domestic and international. Pakistan have to prioritise playing them because it generates so much revenue but it's just too much now at the cost of spending their efforts in Tests. Since the two new ball rule, ODI's have become run-fests and T20's have always been that from the beginning. The spin bowling has declined to produce darters and pace/swing/reverse is now seen as a liability rather than an asset.

Although, I am glad it generates so much revenue and income for the players, they do deserve it.
