Even if he scores 100 in the last innings he needs to be dropped simple
Lets hope he does not because his compatriot Azhar has already bought another life.

Don't know if I would be so certain. This is the perfect situation for a classic 60 odd from the youngsta. He will fail tomorrow again and hopefully that will be the last of him in a Pakistan shirt. Ideally, the rain would prevent him the chance of saving his career anyway.

What surprises me is that his dismissal has been pretty consistent i.e. the edge to slip. I've seen him get out to this dismissal in the practice game, the last test match and now this one as well. I expect and would hope Asad gets dropped and accommodated for someone else.
I think they really need to rethink the series for NZ, Azhar has bought himself a lifeline which sucks as i feel he should've been permanently dropped after this series.
Next series drop Asad, Wahab and possibly Naseem just based on him getting an injury.
It's not even the fact that he always edges to slip, that's generally the most common way for people to get out in Tests. It's more HOW he edges to slip that is so mind-numbingly consistent.
It's never a brute of a delivery that squares him up that he can do nothing about (like Broad to Babar last match). Instead, every single innings without fail, he will gently waft his bat at a ball way outside off, the definition of a nothing shot, as if he's impersonating the opposition's fielding coach in a slips practise session:

Is the career saving Asad special coming up?
I think Asad is likeable character and does not indulge in team politics. Perhaps likely to continue playing for Pakistan sometime.
)So basically an acha bacha.

We're making a team of acha-bacha and hard-working 11
Or, with three balls from a part-timer left before the new ball is due he lacks the concentration to see the job through.Asad facing the part timer as the day draws to a close and the game is about to be drawn - still fails)

Back to domestic cricket for Asad and some long days at the NCA.
Footwork looks suspect, mentally fragile at the moment too.
I’m hoping the new first class structure will weed away the mediocre players and bring out the best talent in Pakistan...
Hopefully less teams means more competition only the best can survive unless they related to the coaches
It could also mean "sifarish" gets to have a greater say? The issue with lesser team concept is that its dependent upon select few.
This whole domestic change will bring result if done with transparency and genuine people having power, in all honesty I'm looking forward to it as well to see how it works in a Desi country.

Younis Khan is saying that he is working on Asad's weak areas but not enough time to fix issues.
From Round 8, Day 3, QeA20 report:
Sindh captain Asad Shafiq lifted his side to a mammoth 514 for eight (declared) with a classy century before Northern, batting for the second time in the match, were reduced to 126 for four.
Asad converted his overnight score of 46 to 117 not out – his 25th first-class century. The 34-year-old smashed 13 fours in the 191 balls he faced.
Way to go. Another century when the team didn’t need it but Asad did.
Misbah is probably on the phone with him discussing Babar Azam replacement.
The match was over well before Asad came out to bat, so it does little to change the relevance of the title of this thread.
I don't know why Asad is hiding down at number 6 in domestic cricket.
This is his level
He was a massive failed investment. Azhar had his moments, won us games.
I cant think of Asad ever winnings us a game, at best he was a sidekick to a more dominant performance (like YK’s double at the oval)
Asad was a specalist in making defeats more respectable, the king of soft runs
