Thats what asad has to show after 8 years of playing test cricket , should not this be his peak period?

He has all of the skills, just doesn't know how to bat. Would've been much better if he was Indian.

he is like the 10 move combos in TEKKEN, in practice mode it looks great, easily do them and pleasing on the eyes, but when the actual game play starts forget 10 move combos you cant even do the 2-3 move basic combos right, and if the opponent is good you even forget the basic punch or kick.... however, once in a blue moon the button mashing gets you the odd round, thats about it.... and that ladies and gentlemen is Asad Shafiq in a nutshell.... he is mokkujin, you want or are hoping for it to be a sick charachter, but you always get a dud instead...

(bonus for imam babar and harris coz they are into this and will read eventually) with imam even in practice mode you cant get 1 basic punch right, but you select him coz its a fav/cool looking player.... babar is the eddie of tekken he is really good, but come game time he is useless bcoz you dont know how to use him... (batting pos)... harris is like you telling your friend that i m gonna so easily defeat you with Baek as he is so good and you have mastered the charachter, you put in the brand new version of the game just to realize Baek has been removed the game... (injured)....

He has been on the decline for a while now. He needs to be sent back to the domestic and make himself worthy again to be considered for the test side.

He may be technically sound but mentally he is fragile in situations where he is required to score runs in accordance to the game plan initiated.

This should be his end he is already in wrong side of thirties I think Pakistan should start retiring the batsman at near 33 official 35 original unless someone playing extra-ordinary

Career average in high 30s and last few years in low 30s.

6 runs less than his career average. Doesn't look like a big decline to me.

It's a shame that these guys don't get dropped at the right time, but instead, we have to drag it out for years and years by which time the player begins getting savaged by the fans as is happening with Shafiq now.

Remote nds me of Rahane who has regressed and has similar stats in last two years. Both are vice captains as well and seem to have a lot of backing from experts.

He can play but cos of his mentality struggles whilst Azhar can guts it out.

His Test average has been declining steadily. Really seems to be struggling and must be close to being dropped.

Rahane, despite his shortcomings, is twice the batsman Shafiq is.

He has to be dropped. I mean even Ian Bell was dropped by England who obviously was a much better player than Shafiq.

If you don't drop him, he will score a 70-80 in supporting role and get ticket for further matches.

He is a mediocre player , very very inconsistent . I do not think he can average over 30 - 35 .

Its time he is dropped .

Agree with you, it's not like he does ALOT better anyway, this is just slightly worse than his career average. If he was to be dropped, then he should've been dropped long back, no point now.

I think Team Pakistan has to be given a lot of credit.

It is simply amazing that we can draw with England in England, beat the Aussies at home and come close to beating the Kiwis st home with 3.5 batsmen...

seems to be struggling.... ummm nahin toh, itna bhi nahin, he easily manages to throw it away...

must be close to being dropped... meaning bole toh 4-5 saal aur.... :-(

So painful to look back and realize this fragile snowflake of a batsman is what a decade of investment looks like. Shambolic. He has the ability, no question about it, and his foreign knocks, all in losses pay tribute to that. But he is a proven failure whenever a crumb of responsibility falls on his shoulders. Best to cut our losses now and invest in someone who can come out to the middle after a decade of international cricket and have a presence of a senior player, not a fragile talented rookie.
