But his last shot was excellent.

I'll admit his last shot was a littler better Lekin Yar he seriously needs to get his strike rotation skills in order Warna he'll really really will struggle against decent attacks in the WC

Sharjeel hitting tight slap on faces of all whining here on PP. Love it.

Real test for Sharjeel is to handle spinner, since Herat is left arm should be not to difficult for him...

Pak looks to be doing good now ,similar tracks in India would help them as well.

Pak found their opener it seems for T20's.

Sharjeel is a hack. IMO, he is still better than Shahzad, Khurram etc.

When Sharjeel has his day, he will win the game on his own at least against average bowling sides.

So you think rotation of strike doesn't need any skill? Serious?

It is a skill but execution of this skill is relatively easy than that of.......let's say....... A timed off or on side slog that might go for six or four and in strike rotation the chances of loosing a wicket are less as well.

In short it is easier than slogging but our batters really struggle to do this simple task

Funnily enough our top 3 in the first 3 t20 world cups was never anything special. The following batted in top 3 in the first 3 editions

2007- Nazir, Butt, Hafeez, Akmal

2009- Akmal, Afridi, Butt

2010- Hafeez, Akmal, Butt

This has never been our strength in T20 WCs. Its always been our bowling and our plans. Plus our lower and middle order has always been good esp with 2007 Misbah

Actually opposite - KAkmal is among the very best T20 players from Pakistan while Butt is better than anyone as LO opener since Anwar. That side also has a very good left-right opening combo. Overall Nazir or Afridi are not great, but in those 2 tournaments they were awesome, simply because the format suits them. You open with Ahmed, MoHa & then expect spectacular is foolish.

should have creamed it on off side.

Sharjeel gave the start and momentum is with Pak.

Should be easy win from here.

6RPO without losing 1 or 2 wickets for the next 10 overs = WIN.

So now .........

When you struggle to do something simple, what do it mean? YOU'RE NOT GOOD AT IT. Simple is that man.

Sharjeel goes but does his job. A kind of start we needed in this chase.

Now middle order shouldn't crumble.

I think, I 'll take a batsman 31 (24) everyday, in a 20 over game. This is a bit tricky wicket, otherwise on better scoring grounds, this could easily have been 38 (24). After 8 overs, PAK's current & asking is same with 8 wickets in hand - it's like platinum.

Next batsmen in should be Malik, Nawaz then Afridi and Iftikhar.

Was an ugly and uncertain innings. Will get out 9 times out of ten playing like this.

Pakistans search continues..

Plus, have him play with a solid opener like Babar or Butt (yes Salman Butt) and he'll do better.

Any team will win from here but not sure with our batting lolz

I think he's sealed his place in the WC squad with that knock. I'll be interested to see how he does against other teams but we haven't been able to find a better alternative for better or worse.

Sharjeel looks so ugly and ineffective, I don't see his game working for anything else but T20s and even then I have doubts. But this was a decent innings and more than any other opener this tournament has done for us. Think he deserves to be stuck with, see what happens now.

We just don't produce openers and guys who perform against the new ball early on. They're just bad at it. Feel like the openers will be nothing more than sacrificial lambs for the guys coming in lower down.

sad state of affairs really that we have to resort to incapable hacks like him.
