Asia Cup 2023: Sri Lanka (257/9) beat Bangladesh (236 all out) by 21 runs

hridoy has been unlucky..usually ad dnt give that out. it looked like going down the leg through naked eye..Umpire did a dirty one here

Waste of space the lot of them.

World cup will be another huge misery.

Haturu is not the right coach for BD. Bangladesh gone backwards in ODI’s. If Haturu was that good Lanka wouldn’t have got rid of him.

Theekshana has one of the ugliest actions in world cricket. However he's vital to this SL attack with his variations.

BD could've done this with wickets in hand. They gotta ditch this hopeless opening pair and get back to Tamim and Litton with Shanto at 3.

Selectors need to be sacked. Wrong players keep getting selected. Why wasn’t Mahmudullah ,Soumya and Mossadekk in the squad. 7-10 is bleak. Longest tail in the world.

BD needs to move on from the oldies after the WC. Mushi and Shakib are too old now and they are half the player they used to be. Surely there are some deserving youngsters waiting in the ranks.

We are having another thriller in this Asia Cup. Bangladesh need 22 runs in 12 balls with only 1 wicket left.

Sri Lanka won by 21 runs.

This is Sri Lanka's Thirteen wins in a row, the second-longest streak in men's ODIs.

BD should have chased this score. It is not a big score by modern standards.Poor batting by BD.

Pakistan the way they play would not have chased 267 v India

Always bat first outside home, put a 250+ score on the board

Sri Lanka achieved a 21-run victory against Bangladesh in Colombo, with Sadeera Samarawickrama scoring an impressive 93 runs, outshining Towhid Hridoy's gritty 82. This win marked a successful start to Sri Lanka's Super Four campaign and extended their winning streak to 13 consecutive ODIs. On the other hand, Bangladesh faced their second consecutive defeat in this round.

Chasing a target of 258, Hridoy and Mushfiqur Rahim put on a 72-run partnership for the fifth wicket. However, the pressure exerted by Sri Lanka's bowlers, especially Dasun Shanaka, proved decisive on a challenging Premadasa Stadium pitch. Shanaka, who bowled nine overs for the second time in his career, finished with figures of 3 for 28. His crucial wickets included breaking the opening partnership and ending Hridoy's stand with Mushfiqur.

The need for Shanaka to bowl extended overs arose from Maheesh Theekshana's injury. Theekshana had taken a blow to his right thumb while batting, forcing him out of the attack after an expensive opening over. Nonetheless, Theekshana returned towards the end of the innings, taking three wickets, albeit conceding more runs than usual.

Matheesha Pathirana also contributed with three wickets, including the important dismissal of Shakib Al Hasan, while two well-executed yorkers cleaned up the tail.

Here is the Super Four table after today's game. Thankfully, it was not a Lanka whitewash so Pakistan still holds the lead on net run rate. We will still maintain poll position should India-Pak rain out

Don't have words to explain
BD spolied great classical batsman he was too good against pace. He is 37 now i think it's over for him.
Unfortunately it seems that way. The Lankan coach is stubborn and will not bring Riyad back in unless there’s huge protests outside the stadium in Dhaka which they won’t because they are satisfied getting all the games in Dhaka. Country is too centralised but central people/fans don’t have the passion to stand up to corruption and mismanagement of things in BD cricket.

They would have, Imam, Babar and rizwan would be enough normally, Indian pace bowlers got taken to the cleaners by Nepal batsmen lol, Their spin attack Brought them back.

They have decent spin and bumrah. The rest are trash, Siraj is average, not that great. Overrated player.

Babar's dismissal is a big blow for us, Gotta give it to Wellalage, though.
