Asia Cup 2025: Crowd Watch

Venue and Capacity

  • The tournament is being held in the UAE, with matches scheduled at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (capacity 25,000) and the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi (capacity 20,000).

Overall Fan Engagement

  • The Asia Cup is a significant event for cricket fans, particularly the large South Asian expatriate communities in the UAE. The tournament is expected to draw a huge viewership, not just in the stadiums but also through television and digital streaming platforms.
  • The official ticketing partner is Platinumlist.net, with physical tickets also available at the stadiums. Ticket prices vary, with higher costs for more premium seats and for the marquee matches.

The India vs. Pakistan Match

  • The most highly anticipated match is the clash between India and Pakistan, which is scheduled for September 14 in Dubai. This match typically sells out almost instantly.
  • However, reports indicate that tickets for this specific match have not been selling out as quickly as expected.
  • A major factor cited for this is the absence of star players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who are considered massive crowd-pullers. According to some commentators, their absence has a significant impact on ticket sales.
  • While some sources suggest the slow sales are due to the high ticket prices, an official from the Emirates Cricket Board has refuted claims of "sluggish" sales, stating that tickets are still selling well, with 3,000 tickets for the match selling out in minutes when released online.

I'm guessing Indian fans may be boycotting the match.
If Pakistani fans are smart they will snap them up to give PK home advantage over India for the first time in over a decade.

Shoaib Akhtar no "sold out" for Pakistan-India match:

"Emotions are running very high. Now we [Pakistan] are meeting India for the first time post-war. Think about it — it cannot not be houseful."
"Someone said to me that the tickets are unsold. I said, 'What are you saying?' Everything is sold; these are all the external talks."

Shame on any Indian who turns up for the Pakistan encounter. Putting cricket interest over national sentiments right now is a disgrace.

Let there be healing first.
Cricket can happen later.

It’s time to stand in solidarity with them rather than being insensitive and engage in cricketing Bhangra.

Expecting a full house...LOL
It is very much a full house in Dubai. What else can you expect from an India Pakistan game?
