What's new

Australia (191 & 93/2) demolish India (244 & 36/9) by 8 wickets to win the 1st Test

Wut

Just admit you lost fair and square

That was a fair pitch, no different to 2017-18 Brisbane for example. India just batted embarrasingly poorly
Worst thing is they won the toss, the ball didn't move a mm in the first innings and then collapsed for an all time low score when it moved a mm in their second innings :)))

Bro the lead would then be close to 160 etc. Plus Aussies would be more demoralised. India may have batted better.

Anyway India played well. Just phucked up in a session.

Let's see next game. I have full faith in this team to turn it around provided bewda makes the right picks for selection.

Like it or not, fielding counts as your team’s performance, not as luck. India did not perform in the field. To call the Aussies lucky, that takes away from how well they bowled.

That all goes out the window when you get out for 36 when the ball moves a mm. That's an all time humiliation right there.

The ball wasn't even doing that much and India folded worse than a 5th division team.

For sure they bowled brilliantly. India also royally screwed up with the catching. More so the selections but anyway next match should be good.

That's true. We suck vs moving ball. Need some county practice.

Even if they had taken their catches. Aus would have chased 160 lol.

India were all time bad in their second innings. First time ever in Test history no player has made double digits for a team.

A mm dude lmao.

I was watching the ball was going, but it was barely noticeable. I thought the ball must have been hooping around when I saw India were 15/4 then they showed the wickets and the ball was barely moving. India were hopeless, Koach threw his wicket away showing INTENT by chasing a wide one after seeing his team collapse at the other end.

Funnily enough same thing happened in n.z too. We played well in the first innings then messed up the second.
We need to work on our batting vs swing.

You had an excuse for the ball moving there, you can't for this.

The ball was barely moving.

Yea I know. Swing has always been our weakness. Already mentioned many times. When you don't play county it's always going to be hard. Oh well.

Our batsmen really need to work on countering swing.

Positive is India did bowl well. They dropped easy catches yes but overall bowling was good.

Batting was horrendous. Tbf even in the first innings our batting was just as shaky. Kohli was not reviewed.

Bewda Shastri needs to man up and pick deserving players.

Don't know how a shot Indian batting line up will survive against a high quality attack

Let's be honest even Pakistan and Sri Lanka would not have been out for 36 lol. What a bad performance by India in that 3rd innings. With Kohli leaving the tour, Smith and Labuschange not performing in this game, and Warner to come back. Expect things to get nasty in the next 3 games for India.

Who said Rohit?
Ishant
Bhuvi at 8 who can bat and support in bowling. Good new ball bowler.
Gill should have always been picked.
Pant

Saha is a bewda. Shaw is going through some acne trauma.

You can't count Bhuvi and Ishant when only one can be picked
Pant, Gill is a lack of captaincy skill, and is no different to a dropped catch or missed review in terms of a skill failure

Both. Because one will bat at 8. Ashwin at 7.
Pant at 6. I know what I am talking about. Bewda management will never understand it because they pick players based on popularity ofocurse.

Anyway it doesn't matter. I am looking forward to see how Indian recover.

You say they played well, but what about their fielding?

Oh ok. With Ashwin at 7 36 will be looking like a good score. I too am hoping India recover a bit. Games over in three days are boring

Doesn't matter there will be 5 bowling options. Pant, Gill, Rahul in the middle can all contribute. Ideally pandya would be perfect at 7 or jaddu. I know what I am talking about.
This adds perfect balance. Just cause they scored 36 today doesn't mean they will underperform again.

Jaddu or pandya at 7 and Bhuvi at 8 is perfect for Sena. Bowling and batting deep with depth.

You know what you are talking about, but cricket is not a formula that it will always work. Playing the best team is a good start but even then it doesn't guarantee a win.

Just like the toss doesn't win you matches...
This time you better had your TV off after the toss, it would have been easier than to watch just hapenned.

They will or else heads will be rolling in India. Effigy will be lit up. I am sure they will rebound. Need to pick right selections.

Nothing happened when you lost countless matches in 2015, when you arrived in Australia months before the WC. The team kept getting thrashed and i would say was one of the most humiliating episodes of Indian cricket. Then the famous 10-0 blanking, the whitewashes by Australia and England in a row. Nothing happened. The only time i saw Indian cricketing set up react to a defeat was after the epic phainta served by Pakistan in the Aaane Do Series which saw a lot of deadwood getting thrown away.

Much to the despair of Indian fans, i am predicting a series defeat and continuous pounding for the boys pretending to be in men in blue. Rahane being captain alone should tell you why. :ronaldo

All trolling aside - watching the highlights now and the Aussie quicks are utterly relentless with their line and lengths. Top class bowling.

Pakistani seamers need to watch that display 50 times on loop before our next tour of Australia. Our guys bowl too short on those surfaces.

Lets not even talk about our tours to Australia. Absolutely reckless selection for some reason whenever we visit Australia, and we always somehow go with an unsettled team and a newly appointed management. These things coincide cosmically for some reason.

It was a fluke win

Quite easily the worst day ever in Indian Test cricket history. What a joke of a surrender! Absolutely gutted. Never felt this bad for a Test loss and I've seen us getting pasted 8-0 in England and Australia back in 2011/12.

Even Zimbabwe and Ireland wouldn't get bowled out for 36. Was away with work for a couple of hours and by the time I checked Cricinfo, Wade and Burns were batting while I was expecting Kohli and Vihari at worst.

On a side note I'm glad that Gill and to some extent Pant were not a part of this massacre as this would have absolutely scarred them for years to come. Just hope they somehow put this behind, pick the best XI and give their all for the remaining 3 Tests. This series now has a big ol' 4-0 written all over it. With Kohli and Shami set to miss, we'll do wel to avoid innings defeats. :(

Is it really the worst day? What about the time Kamran Akmal of all people snatched a Test from the actual GOAT India Test side :inti

Getting all out for 36 with no single batsman reaching double digits is the lowest of the lowest of the lows for any Test team. And for a "top team" like India, well.....

Nothing will ever surpass this drubbing.

The emergence of a good indian bowling attack has coincided with perhaps their worst test batting lineup in memory.
Its been a trend. They keep getting bowled out for low totals outside India.
Some of their numbers outside india are downright poor which is a pity since they finally have a half decent bowling attack.

Here it is. The England attack was very powerful with Statham and Tyson opening, Bailey first change, mystery spinner Wardle who averaged 20 in tests and Appleyard who averaged even less. Arguably the best side England ever put out.

What do you think about the English side that played Pakistan at home in 1954? How do you rate Pakistan's performance in that series ?

:))) Love you BVB bhai, leken hamari team tou purani pappi hai in Australia. Somehow all the stars align together for an epic phainta to be dished out to Pakistani team :yk

Same i guess goes for India in England :afridi

Nothing positive bro. IND won the toss, Warner wasn’t there, Smith had a forgettable Test, Labus scored 53 in combined innings and India managed to get a 50+ lead; tactically got best time to bat second time as well ..... still it ended like this.

Next three Tests, without Kohli (& probably Shami at least for a Test or two), it is going to be long, long, long ..... long & painful tour. Trust me, Aussies have smelt blood - now they know what they can achieve putting hostile pressure on Indian batting, and they are without Kohli......

I actually thought India would win this Test :yk it could have been one of their best overseas Test wins ever :mv

So? We were missing 4 players too. I already said under strength team.

Anyway we lost a pink ball test. Big deal. Real deal is the red ball cricket.

We are missing 4 players. 2 that din't get picked. Like Warner would have done anything with the way India bowled in the first innings.

Should have been all out for 120.

Just a bad session of batting.

I have no doubt India will rebound hard from this.

How are you doing mate. Aussies had smelt blood :))):))):)))....Warner would do zilch against this Indian attack....Smith will continue having forgettable tests...Lab will not be having 5 lives every innings....What else mate? What's your prediction for the next 2 tests?

Half decent indeed. Haha.
