There were games where he would get out around 20-30 and people would be gunning for him saying he looked scratchy. But there were also games where he'd get a 150 or double from positions like that. Problem is, now that he is old, there is no way you can give him that benefit of hope. It's a difficult thing from the player pov, because he has history looking and feeling like this and he will always be believing, I can do it again. If he doesn't get a big 100 today, they should retire together and let the third (most probably dead rubber) game be used for practice for some youngsta beautys.

There is no need to pull down someone just because he got the captaincy. Rohit doesn't deserve to be captain now because he is not an automatic choice for opener anymore.
