Rohit's reflexes are so poor. I am sure he is aware. But this personal obsession of winning a world cup keeps him going. But it hurts team Indai enoromously. He had his chances 3 times 2015, 2019, 2023. He missed it. He should leave gracefully

one thing is for sure...these are not Asian pitches or pitches like the recent Indian visits of Australia

Gill and Iyer are lucky that all the attention is on Rohit ang Kohli...

Please someone get rid of Rohit. I don't Want any more runs otherwise his PR team not let him to take retirement. :kp

Former Indian cricketers need to come down savagely at the 2 oldies in the media for them to face massive embarrassment. Kapil Dev is someone not afraid to speak his mind. Gavaskar comes next to mind. Just humiliate them in the public.

Gill was not looking clueless. He was trying to amp the scoring and perished. He was looking comfortable.
it's the pitch. nothing to ds reflexes

iyer is struggling too

anyone trying to go for runs won't succeed

toss was everything

pitch will get easier with time

Aussie comms said rohit did the same nonsense in the bgt.he struggled all the time bringing the team down.he is doing it again .

this is a test-match-like pitch

anyone who thinks fast scorer would have done better is wrong

it gets very cold at night this time of Aus year. the pitch was probably covered for few days

can't go and start playing shots batting first

Not really. Gill played only 8 balls while Rohit eating dot after dot. Completely wasting the power play. Gill is the captain. He had to take charge.

Gill looked perfectly fine. He just had no strike for lengthy periods of time and eventually felt like he had to be the one to push.

The thing with Rohit is - prior to his recent change where he was going from ball 1, he actually used to have games like this where he'd be batting at 50% SR. There were games where he would get out around 20-30 and people would be gunning for him saying he looked scratchy. But there were also games where he'd get a 150 or double from positions like that. Problem is, now that he is old, there is no way you can give him that benefit of hope. It's a difficult thing from the player pov, because he has history looking and feeling like this and he will always be believing, I can do it again. If he doesn't get a big 100 today, they should retire together and let the third (most probably dead rubber) game be used for practice for some youngsta beautys.

You know when a batsman is past by sell date. Rohit looks finished every inch. 17th over he is on 28. Guy who smashed Starc for 29 runs in one over in the world T20.

iyer has been cut in half 5 or 6 times

it's Rohit's good technique that he was playing the ball with the bat.

taking the time on this pitch and waiting for weak bowlers is the right thing

Rohit & Shreyas who should have been the actual white ball captain showing puppet Gill how to make runs when ball is moving around.

There is no need to pull down someone just because he got the captaincy. Rohit doesn't deserve to be captain now because he is not an automatic choice for opener anymore. That shouldn't be the reason to pick him. He has to be much better than youngsta choices to merit continued selection. And I'm saying this as probably the biggest and longest-standing fan of his on this forum.

All good things in life have to come to an end. Selectors should politely tell Rohit and Kohli announce your retirement now with dignity or face being dropped from the ODI team for good.

Rohit batted well today.... don't blame batsmen as there were no practice matches for Team India

That's good, he should have the sense to go out on a high. There is no value in taking a 40 year old to the 2027 ODI WC. India has tremendous limited overs batting talent which he is now keeping out in the pursuit of personal milestones.

Good fightback from india after the horrific start.

But not enough, They have badly lost this. Hopefully Head will perform but Head atm has that beer belly and has lost alot of form.

Decent batting effort. Two rubbish has been players in the Top 3 is the only thing strangling this batting lineup .

We can easily score 300 on such wickets if we play with our best domestic prospects.

And that's usually enough.

With jaiswal and Abhishek we would have thrashed Australia . Anyway 5 match T20 series is real deal for me. :kp

^^^ 👺👺.

UNO REVERSE SON

I don't care about the results until these seniors go. IT is utterly selfish to continue playing. They have so many commercial committments. SO they are trying to stay in the lime light

& our pace attack is pathetic pop gun....Arshdeep & his 120 kmph thundebolts are halwa when it does not swing....
Harshit - good batting effort and justified his selection on that front but hope he comes good today - else another run of the mill trundler....
Said this in first match -saying again - BCCI and selectors have lost a golden chance to groom some up and coming young pace bowler - instead of selecting the same thakela harshit, arshdeep, prasidh...
i only believe on mo-Siraj bhai in this game :)...

Happy to see one massive and much needed change in their outfits....the size of logos.....

Previously one felt our guys were playing for Dream 11 or Byju's or Star or some randomabad soda paan masala or whatever based on the size and font of the obscene in your face endorsement plastered on their shirt fronts.....

thankfully the size is much reduced to a bearable font and the country name is more prominent.....

and the same with Aus as well with the logo of the Westpac bank - three stumps with the correct size...

maybe somone somewhere with a conscience is calling the shots/pulling the strings deciding such stuff....

and long may this continue :salute

Arshdeep Singh to Head, no run, dropped! 130.4kph, short of length, Head pulls uppishly to midwicket. Nitish times his jump well as he leaps to his right. The ball hits his palm and goes down. How costly will that turn out to be?

Why is the thread empty? Genuine question
I don't think too many Indians are interested in this bilateral nonsense anymore. I'm only watching this because I wanted to see how bad Rohit and Kohli would be and also see them off one last time. Only tournaments or marquee Test series interest me personally now.

And the Pakistanis turn up only if their favourite Head is bashing India

Same here, specially after Sachin's retirement.

Moving very well Matt Renshaw. Can be a good option for AUS moving forward. Quite experienced now too.

Tuned in to watch Travis head but India bowled beautifully to him
