Said this many times, in any case I just don't trust umpires, far prefer the decision to be left to technology.

There was a big no ball the ball before Gayle was given out. Umpire needs to be investigated

I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt because every ump has a bad day on the field. But I really hope he improves.

he can improve out of the world cup, you cant have such errors in a tournament.

He is compromised now, players won't have faith in his decisions

that might be the worst piece of umpiring in the last decade. How can you miss a noball that big? and what is the third umpire for? how hard is to check every ball quietly while bowler is walking back to his mark.
 
replays have shown that on the ball before Gayle was dismissed, Starc overstepped by about four inches but no no-ball was signaled by umpire Gaffaney. It would have been a free hit on the ball he was given lbw.
 
Ump determining this game here. That guy was ready to lift the finger on any appeal.

The amount of bouncers Windies got away bowling to Pakistan, I feel a certain level Schadenfreude on what Gaffeny did to Gayle.
 
This is ridiculous. Third ump shouldve called gayle back. Infact why isnt the 3rd umpire checking the foot like every other game nowadays
 
Ive seen no balls called from 3rd ump many times in bilaterals. Why isnt this happening in the WC

Russell bowled 6 short pitched balls in one over, 4 were above shoulder height and bowler was not called for bouncers. That was turning point of the match when batsmen perceived that Umpiring was biased.

Karma ! Balanced out with WI.

At some moment later in World Cup, it will balance out for Pakistan too, in favour.
 
Surely if the free hit law is in place they should also check the front foot of the delivery before? But really the umpires surely shouldn’t be that poor that such a measure has to be taken

West Indies showing their batting is not juutst BOOM BAM WHAM... but can adapt to situation as needed.
They will be 4th team to make semis mostly I think.
 
Want austalia to win, as that way windies wont get chance for semi with less matches win

I think gayle owed money to that umpire. He just HAD to give gayle out.
 
At the ground and can confirm that hetmyer has the potential to be amongst the world's best batsmen in a couple of years. Looks amazing live
 
The Windies middle order will be formidable with Hope, Pooran and Hetmyer.

As of late yes their batting in ODI and Test has improved, but its mostly down to new talent also. Don't Think the old guard would of had much patience.
 
WIN are 15 runs ahead in DWL (1 wicket a head actually, even 4 down keeps them ahead). They'll have to play poor here to lose.

But they will do some crazy stuff. I want to be pleasantly surprised though. Want WI to win. But Aussies can come back any time.
 
Somebody needs to check if both umpires' bank accounts received a big increase recently or not.
 
124 from 118 at Trent bridge is nothing. WIs should cruise home here as long as they don’t do anything stupid.
