Australia [381/5] beat Bangladesh [333/8] by 48 runs in 26th match of 2019 World Cup

England had the 100 within 14/15 overs against BD .Aus still too and it’s the 17th ov now. Aus has not really got away so good thing BD has to keep going and trying their best

Today WC will be over for 6 teams. ICC should just start the semi finals from tomorrow with Ind,Aus,Eng and NZ...who would want the watch all these deadrubbers..pathetic format
 
We have successfully brought Warner in form - now, someone will suffer for this.

I haven't followed BD much this WC, but whatever happened to Mustafizur?

Anyways, it's amazing how much difference Smith & Warner have made to this Aussie side. Not much long ago, they were looking flat, but it's incredible how they've lifted their game, & are now well placed to end up being in top 4.

There nothing wrong with the format or pitch. It’s the difference in quality between top 4 and the other 6 that’s to blame. Random wins like Pak vs Eng don’t count much this time.

Pakistan would have found it difficult to reach quarterfinal if there was one such stage. On current form, Pakistan is 8th or 9th along with WI. We can wait till all league matches to confirm.

If not improved, some of these teams may have to play qualifying rounds against Nepal, Japan, Ireland next time.

Its not about pak, if pak was in top 4 I would have said the same. after today its 80% certain that all other matches will be useless in the group stage. As a neutral would you want to see any match that do not have any significance on the world cup?

this IPL type format is ok as long as 10 teams are equals, but here 3 teams are way out of everyone's league

This type of Round robin format leaves no rooms for Gatecrashers. If you aren't suited, you aren't invited.. Period!!

Group leagues leave too much scope for non-deserving to get in. Imagine that a team like Australia couldn't qualify for CT2017 Semis just coz 2 of its matches against minnows got rained off & it lost to Eng via D/L method. OTOH, BD beat NZ & qualified instead thanks to the rained off match against Australia.

In Round Robin format where each team plays the other teams, there is very little scope of such adverse results.

Nah others formats are silly for cricket with less than 10 competitive teams. Groups and less games per team makes it too much luck based . Its only good for casuals. For people who actually like watching good cricket this is the best format.

Pakistanis wanted this format before the World Cup because it helped them win the 92' WC.

The problem is, this format demands consistency, and besides the top 2 or 3 teams, none of the teams are consistent enough to churn a group of results together.

In my opinion, the format that suits Pakistan best is something like this :

Two useless matches - lose

2 crucial matches - win

Semi final - win

Final - win

Pakistan can win 4 maximum on the trot if they get real lucky, but in current times I would doubt any format would have helped Pakistan get to the pedestal.
 
What a captain Mashrafe!! What a change of bowling. This is why he is so valuable.
 
That's why Mashrafee is one of the best captain in this World. Sarfraz will never bring this type of bowling change.
 
There’s plenty of threads to discuss about others. Here’s a match between bd v aus and some people just love talking about other stuffs non match related. Where are the mods.

And that should be point of WC.. whoever plays best and consistently wins it. Including finals
 
Sarkar is bowling well. He should bowl 4-5 overs at least (provided he doesn't go for too many runs).
 
BD needs the set Warner out ASAP!

This wicket of Finch came from nowhere. That will lift the team!

he is good I feel needs to learn to adapt a bit more. I like his attitude though gives it his all
 
Bangladesh must keep believing and having faith. Aus has not run away with it. Need to do the basics right, field well. Can’t drop heads because this is high scoring ground with short boundaries! And must take heart from the big chase last match emphatically!

BD will be living in fools land if they think they can replicate the chase against Westindies in this match with cummings and strac in Aus side

Needs to improve his skill in terms of getting bowl to drift a bit more.. needs to impart bit more revolutions and use his body abut more. This problem Kuldeep was facing in IPL

BD has to ensure Australia doesn't run away with the score. Keep the run rate below 6.

Hardly a run out chance. He was blocking the stumps and running. At most he would have hit Warner
 
Sabbir must be politically connected. There is no other explanation for his constant selection.

Sarkar is bowling well. Very impressed.
 
149/1 after 27 overs. Bangladesh kept run rate in check. More wickets are needed though.
 
Should give Mustafizur a couple of overs here, otherwise 350 is on with the big hitters coming up!

Good that mash got good overs and key wicket with the part timer but needs to learn when to stop using the part timer. Issue is it’s desi mentality if he doesn’t bowl him people will question him in BD why did u take sarkar off when he was bowling well?
 
Things not as per plan but BD can chase 320..... need to restrict to 320
 
Mash has got 4-5 bonus overs from part-timer, but still it’s threatening 350 at least.

C'mon banga bandhu....gotta keep the faith....anything can happen...looks like a flat pancake pitch, bounce is good and comes on....you have Shakib doing what Yuvi did for us in 2011, Liton was class against us in asia cup finals and was awesome against wi....they need to field like tigers from here....bowl to one side of the wicket....it still can be done...as an indian i favour our asian bro's...c'mon joy...Bangla...:)
