Great chance for PCB to contact SAF board and volunteer our A side to replace Aus if required.

Great idea- doubt it will happen though.

Yes I like this thinking !

We should jammy a tour for ourselves and fill the void if the Aussies can't make it.

I doubt it will happen but would be very good. Two 4 day matches and an ODI tri series with India. We can give chances to players like Aslam, Haris Sohail, Saad Ali, Fahim Ashraf, Aamer Yamin, Saif Badar, Umar Amin etc to see who can play for the Pakistan first team but there's no point getting excited cos PCB will never volunteer our side

I like this idea and this is thinking on your feet which I don't see pCB doing though as they are busy in pleasing PM by telling him how well he batted in some non sensical matches some 2 decades back.

LOL PCB will invite SA A team to pakistan if i know sheheryar well  and then threaten to sue them :yk

I agree with the other Pakpassioners. This will be a great to chance to see some new and young players. With two spots open in the Test team, it will give the selector and management a great insight on which players have a part in the International team and who needs more work to be done with

It really is an ideal opportunity.

After quite a few A team series last year the PCB don't seem bothered with it this year. Surely the chief selector should be asking why more of these series aren't happening?

It won't happen for sure. They won't call us and PCB won't approach them. Most people in PCB wouldn't even know about it.

Australia A tour officially called off over ongoing pay dispute between players and Cricket Australia

AUSTRALIAN cricket’s players’ association has officially made the call to boycott the Australia A tour of South Africa.

Test hopefuls headlined by Usman Khawaja and Glenn Maxwell will forgo the chance to push their Ashes claims thanks to cricket’s ugly pay dispute which continues to drag on.

Despite the international opportunities on offer to them if they toured, the Australia A squad has made the unified decision to stick in solidarity with more than 200 out of contract players around the country and cancel the tour.

They want to send a message to Cricket Australia that they are demanding progress.

Cricket Australia brought forward a deadline to make a call on the tour, although no one was expecting the tour to take place after the ACA made a strong stance last Sunday on not playing until an MOU was in place.

Australia A players have been training all week in Brisbane in the distant hope that the parties could come to an agreement, however the camp is now set to be disbanded.

There’s been months of mudslinging in this dispute, but this is the first significant impact on Australian cricket.

Players’ future opportunities as well as Australia’s Ashes hopes have now been potentially jeopardised by this ever-escalating crisis.

There will now be renewed fears for Australia’s Test tour of Bangladesh which is scheduled to take place in late August going ahead.

The players have made it clear that they will not tour unless progress is made — which from their point of view means Cricket Australia coming to the table on a revenue share model.

The Cricketers Association have renewed their calls for CA chief James Sutherland to immediately involve himself in negotiations.

“By making this call, the Australia A players have sacrificed their own ambitions for the collective; an incredibly selfless act that shows their strength and overall commitment to the group,” said an ACA statement.

“All players are deeply disappointed at the behaviour of CA which forces this course of action, given the players would rather be playing for their country.

“CA refuse to attend mediation or offer any genuine flexibility in the MOU negotiations.

“And without mediation it’s hard to see how there can be the progress necessary to reach agreement.”

Cricket Australia later hit back at the ACA’s decision by claiming that negotiations had progressed enough this week that the tour should have been allowed to go ahead.

According to CA, chief executives Sutherland and Alistair Nicholson have been in regular contact.

CA said it was “disappointed” the players had made the call to abandon the tour and will donate the $250,000 the tour was set to cost to grassroots cricket.

“Cricket Australia is disappointed players have today confirmed they are unwilling to take part in the Australia A tour of South Africa,” said a statement.

“CA has never and would never attempt to compel any player to represent Australia at any level if they were unwilling to do so.

“While a new MOU has not yet been agreed, CA is of the view that these talks should have enabled the tour to proceed as planned.”

Now that it has officially been called off, I think the PCB can be more proactive and send Pakistan A team.

Before the official notice, didn't sound right.

Is there any effective way of getting the PCBs attention with regards to this Saj ?

Really is a perfect chance to test out the potential replacements for Misbah and Younis. It can be a straight shootout between the likes of Haris, Usman, Amin and Fawad.

AFGHANISTAN A TO REPLACE AUSTRALIA A IN TRIANGULAR SERIES

THE Afghanistan Cricket Board has accepted Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) invitation to replace Australia A in the triangular series against South Africa A and India A to be played later this month.

“We are delighted that Afghanistan have accepted our invitation and look forward to welcoming them to our country for the very first time,” commented CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat. “Afghanistan were deservedly granted Full Member status at the ICC annual conference last month after showing impressive growth in recent years.

“They are a passionate cricket nation and I expect the Afghanistan A team to compete strongly against our A team and India A in the upcoming tri-series.,” concluded Mr. Lorgat.

“We are very pleased to accept Cricket Soth Africa’s invitation to participate in the upcoming triangular series,”commented Afghanistan Chief Executive, Shafiqullah Stanikzai . “This will be our first-ever visit to South Africa and I am certain that this will give Afghansitan ’A’ team very good exposure to competitive cricket.”

India ‘A’ will continue their tour after the final of the one-day series for the two four-day matches against South Africa ‘A’.

Good for Afghanistan, hope they send as many of the first teamers as possible because this would really help Afghanistan improve
