Mushfiq, Shakib, Tamim all started their career in their teens and still compensating for the initial inconsistencies that reflects on their respective averages. But no point explaining these to a random pretentious online expert like you, i would much rather see paint dry.

Since 2011, Tamim's SR year-on-year range from 66 to 83, and in 2018 along with 2019 (so far) his SRs have been below 80. Pakistan's selection like so many other teams lacks rational thinking. Nothing indicates this more than the continued selection of Shoaib Malik and the decision to play Shaheen Shah Afridi ahead of Shadab Khan.

Inability to Understand Talent

Shaheen Shah Afridi is without question a talented cricketer. He's tall and has the potential to be a good quick bowler. But at this stage in his career he has shown very little to suggest that he should be picked ahead of a top level leg spinner. Shaheen doesn't possess fierce speed, control, movement, or wicket taking nous.

Building an XI

Imad Wasim is a better batsman in these conditions especially when asked to bat in the lower order than Shoaib Malik. Both struggle against pace and bounce, but Imad has shown an ability to bat well in these conditions and also slug a few sixes at the end. Imad is by far a better bowler than Malik and has the ability to share the new ball with Amir. Imad's ability to restrict opening batsman from freeing up will only help Amir be more dangerous. Imad's most glaring and obvious weakness is his fielding and speed in the outfield.

Green Top

Mickey Arthur and Sarfraz Ahmed have consistently out thought themselves in different conditions. Quality bowlers bowl well in all conditions. Shadab is a quality bowler. As a result, I expect him to thrive on dust bowls and green tops alike. Unfortunately Sarfraz and especially Mickey don't understand talent or understand how to build a functional XI.
