I am assuming Sky will be showing in UK as major series.

Haven't watched a match live at the Pindi stadium in years. I will be going in on Day 1 and Day 2 for sure but I really, really hope that the stands aren't a mile away from the park. I remember that in Lahore, the stands were so far away from the ground that you could only vaguely understand the game.

My experience of watching cricket in New Zealand was completely different however. Eden Park in Auckland was like watching the game on TV. Very close to the park.

Major Pindi stadium ka kya scene hai larkay? close to the action or is it like lhr where you can barely see a thing and would probably need a telescope.

Brother it really gets boring... I often felt as if I had no idea what was happening in the match and just enjoyed the crowd :)). The ground isnt as big as lahore, but i believe the problem does arrise where a person isnt able to understand the game.

The crowd will be good though, but i doubt you would be using ur day 2 ticket. I remember when i went over to watch a pakistan vs sri lanka test game. Left after one session....
Plus i dont think lunch would be avaible in the stadium and you habe to munch on expensive chips in the stands
T20 are fun though

That’s very sad bro. I was really looking forward to this match. To be honest, I’m not that interested in the crowd or food. I just wanted to watch some great love cricket and see Starc/Smith live.

Might consider taking binoculars.

Who are the commentators for this series?

Fox has the rights to the series along with PTV. Will Fox be sending their commentators to Pakistan?

yes its on their schedules early morning starts, looking forward to this

Yay! I'm not really into T20 leagues but as it was on Sky, PSL helped me get through the day, the Test series and tour will help me get through the morning.

Just hope Pak put up a good performance so am not switching off after 3 days!

The ground is actually very intimate. Super close to the action. You'll love it https://twitter.com/melindafarrell/status/1498536610513793029?s=20&t=sAXxD8vZPbjR4gnEXzAoPg

Who are the commentators for this series?

I believe it’s Haysman, Hayden and Rob Key. From Pakistan it’s Bazid, Waqar, Wasim and Urooj 😆. And of course the presenter is our very own and lovely Zainab Abbas.

Sony Six will broadcast this on Indian channels.. have renewed my IPTV subscription here in Melbourne.
I get PTV(and all other Pakistani channels).. So the plan is to watch
Game on Hai and then switch to Sony Six. A Sports has not been added yet by my provider . Have requested him.
All set to watch this historical series... Friday evening preps done.

A Sports HD is thankfully broadcasting. Going to enjoy it in HD quality at home and will definitely go for the T20I.

Would love to see a strong commentary team for this historic series. I know it would be difficult, but would have been great to have both David Gower and Mike Haysman covering this series too. Would love to have seen Warne as well, but I'm not holding my breath.

Not been as excited for a series since Jeet Lo Dil 2004. Just two more sleeps !

Some of the leading cricket commentators will call Australia’s first tour to Pakistan in 24 years, which will get underway at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on 4 March. In addition to the three-Test series, which will be played for the Benaud-Qadir Trophy, the five-week tour also includes three ODIs and one T20I.

Rob Key of England, Australia’s Michael Kasprowicz and Pakistan trio of Bazid Khan, Urooj Mumtaz and Waqar Younis will commentate through the tour from 4 March to 5 April.

Simon Katich of Australia will only commentate on the Benaud-Qadir Trophy and like Kasprowicz, will be making his commentary debut in Pakistan.

Sikander Bakht and Zainab Abbas will host the pre- and post-match shows along with Neroli Meadows, who will only be available for first two Test matches.

The High-Definition broadcast coverage includes 28 cameras, which along with buggy cam will embellish the viewing experience of the fans within and outside Pakistan. Hawk-Eye and Ultra Edge will be part of the Decision Review System (DRS) Technology.

Broadcast coverage of this much-anticipated series will be available through PTV (Pakistan), Etisalat (Middle-East and North Africa), Flow Sports (Caribbean), Sky NZ (New Zealand), Fox Sports (Australia), Sky Sports (United Kingdom), Sony (South Asia outside Pakistan), Super Sports (Sub-Saharan Africa), Willow TV (North America), ICC TV and Daraz (live streaming partner).

Kasprowicz, Katich, Key, Bazid, Urooj, Waqar.

Not a lineup that fills me with excitement :inti

If this were 10 years ago, I'd imagine the lineup being:

Ramiz, Waqar, Slater, Taylor, Mark Nicholas, Bill Lawry.

Bro you should have stayed for the Sri Lanka test. They opened the doors to the other enclosures later and it became a better experience to watch the test match.

It was still a pain in the a** when it came to getting something to eat and the whole thing was badly mismanaged by PCB who should have sold tickets to the good enclosures but it was still a tolerable experience.

Btw I checked today and tickets for all 5 days are sold out. I got one for Day 4 but by the looks of it rain might have the final say.

Depends completely on where you are sitting. The enclosures are at less of a distance than they are in Lahore. But the only place worth sitting are the Javed Miandad and Imran Khan enclosures. There's no beaming sunlight hitting you on the face. The seats are about as good as you are going to get and if you are sitting in the upper stands I'd say the view is the next best thing to hospitality seats/media center.

First day of a test match is rarely that interesting. I learned my lesson and wanted to get one for Day 3 or Day 4 this time.

Yeah I'm gonna try and get tickets for one of the ODIs too. Not gonna bother with the T20 because there will be too much rush for that.

Metro bus might not be operational till the stadium though. Because I distinctly remember it wasn't back then when Sri Lanka toured.

Bump for people looking for broadcast details.

I am getting Asports HD as well and there feed is much better then PTV HD.
But Asports is showing women World Cup at the moment

good production from day 1 few snags but watching on sky sports uk looks on par with any of the other broadcasts frome ngland or india etc. Like the use of the drone aswel in place of spidey cam, rob key good addition to the comm box aswel not sure what others think of him.

Great improvement in overall production quality, graphics, everything. Was impressed with PSL 7 production quality as well. WELL DONE PCB!

I like Key, combines insight with self-deprecating humour.

I hope him, Kasprowicz and Katich will be okay on commentary tomorrow - obviously the latter two were Warne's teammates, and Key was close friends with him. Will be a very emotional broadcast.

Such little technical input from these commentators.

Most of the Pakistani comms lack any sort of technical insight.

It's a pain listening to them.

Pakistani commentators have Zero insight. They just try too hard to sound good and expressive.
In the good old days I really used to admire Asif Iqbal commentating. I would really love to see our former legends like Asif or even Mushtaq Mohammed sharing their expertise. Even Aamir Sohail is quite a decent commentator and analyst.

Yes, quite a pain listening to them. Should have got Akram on board. He is much better than his buddy Waqar.
