I'm really surprised that Rashid isn't in the WC squad instead of Tredwell. Rashid is more than capable with the bat also. Not to mention his aggressive leg spinners.

Agreed but i can't see Tredwell playing unless Swann is injured. If Swann doesn't recover in time i doubt we'll make it out the group.

rashid would be the bolter in this squad, a big ripping leg spinner anda dangerous batsmen, whilst yardy is just left arm rubbish and tredwell is just not for this level, england need wicket takers in the middle overs where yardy tries containing with his pies, just think if swann doesnt recover then what? rashid for me has much more to offer than tese 2 club standard cricketers

The only thing ripping about Rashid will be the SL and Indian batters tearing the cover off the balls he bowls as they fly into the stands.

Lol I agree with this one. Dunno why this guy is selected in the squad. Even wright and yardy are better than this guy.

Personally I would have played Tremlett over Bresnan in the starting eleven. Bresnan would do a good job too though.


At least if Broad is injured, you have a replacement in Tremlett, and if Anderson gets injured ajmal can take his place (though I don't think ajmal is as good a replacement as Tremlett is).

England didn't pick a great squad really. Wright, Yardy, Tredwell all shouldn't have been anywhere near the squad. But at least you've picked pretty much your best players to play in the starting eleven. Which I don't think Pakistan have done unfortunately (especially with the omission of Yousuf).
