But those were fresh auctions. The franchisees had their full kitty then.

This time, there wo'nt be exorbitant bids as most of the teams are already spent. Let's see what this chaddi-payjama league has on offer this time.

completely agree.. also only 9 teams are there now..

now every team has 2m $s to spend and Rajastan has 4 m $s

You seriously think India's gonna beat SL? Would you put your house on it:boycott

No..... he is saying India WILL beat Sri Lanka..... because if SL was not there, India might has lost ALL the games to Australia.

he's playing innings of his life with a nice combinations of Tuk tuk, and some aggressive shots like of Afridi's . Way to go :)

Man.... this loss is so interesting & absorbing to you???

haha..
still hoping for a minor fightback in the losing game..

i am sorry for our young players :(..
even if they dont win , they tend to play as a team

Does'nt looks a possibility. India has a record of bringing the most out of form batsman into form and most out of form bowlers look like malcom marshel.

Doherty has a wicked arm ball, no way Dhoni is chasing this.

IPL player retention rules tilt level playing field

The Indian board's list of 12 players retained by their IPL franchises for the next two seasons is good news for those players because they can negotiate the value of their contracts with their respective teams. Yet the retention process appears to undermine one of the fundamental principles of the IPL so far - a common salary cap, and consequently a level playing field for the franchises - and also the BCCI's declared intention of a more transparent league.

Unlike previous seasons, however, these figures do not correlate to salaries - and do not count towards the salary cap. Indeed, there is no salary cap at all. So the Chennai Super Kings, who retained four players, could hypothetically pay India captain MS Dhoni $3 million, and the other retained players $1 million each, making it a total of $6 million, but still only deduct $4.5 million from their auction pool. Likewise, Delhi Daredevils, who retained only Virender Sehwag, could pay him more or less than $1.8 million, without worrying about the impact on their ability to spend money on other players. The franchises do not have to make these contracts public either.

* RETAINED PLAYERS SALARY-

*Also please note that according to IPL rules, for retaining one player, 1.8 million dollars or around 8.4 crores will be deducted from total team money allocated of 9 million $ or 41.4 crores, similarly for 2nd retained player, 1.3 million $ or 6 crore rupees, for 3rd retained player, 0.9 million $ or 4 crore Rs and for fourth retained player, 0.5 million $ or 2.33 crore Rs will be deducted. This however DOES NOT mean that it will be the actual salary of those players. It will be what is agreed upon by the owners and the players and this can be more or less than the deducted amount. Thus the auction might say Gambhir has the highest price but Sachin and Dhoni might still be the highest earning players!

Imran Khan views about us is 100% correct. We are the most consistent team in the world :imran

Big Bash League XI beat India by 31 runs

Dhoni and that fat english man shud be worried, a new look aussie team with out big names still easily walks over india,

We lose by 31 runs..
Maasive massive improvement , aussies were never in a position to get 10 wickets. :19:

how sad, an indian channel like Cric One showing the game switched to highlights of previous indian victories as soon as india lost the game, didn't even show the presentation ceremony properly.

What an embarrassing loss, can't even beat what is basically a domestic Aussie XI.

OK.... thanks for the explanation.

What about auctioned players? Do they get paid.... what they get auctioned for?

Auctioned players gets exactly the same amount.
Pollard's case in the 3rd IPL is different , though Mumbai paid 2.5m $ ( secrret bid ), Pollard got only 0.75 $:)))

But there were reports that Franchise delayed the payments by about 7 or 8 months ,
simon katich claimed that he was not paid even after a year,
and frnachises bblamed the government for not clearing the funds in time

dhoni happy abt his form,,, a hugh series awaits him at home, IPL

You look at below and clear where game was won and lost

1st 6 overs - Aus 55/1 and India 49/2
Last 5 overs - Aus 29/1 and India 30/0

Overs 7-15 - Aus 87/0 and India 61/4 - Indias middle order struggled against spin and lost to many wickets. Aussies didnt lose a wicket, and they scored at a good rate!

Good to see Aussies have picked pretty much the best 11 T20 specalist in Aus right now and they have done a good job.

Pakistan please take note!

...or... may be ACB is trying to keep their test players away from T20s intentionally so that they don't become T20s experts & popular with IPL..... and follow the foot step of Gilly, Hyden, Warne, Lee and Tait .... and quit test cricket.
