Would it kill the curators to put some life in the pitches? This is an embarrassment.

Don Warner on his way to a double, Don Smith still to bat...

Looking really ugly for India.

UAE had slight turn, otherwise they were roads as well.

Not like this.

If it were, Aussies wouldn't have crumbled there.

Here a batman won't get out unless he wants to.

Indian bowlers are just speeding up the run scoring process.

Dozed off and fell asleep n my bed, Didn't know Warner scored a century.

i hope they can bring the RR down to 3.75 orelse it will be total embarrasment

Keep Indians in the field for two days under the hot sun then declare IMO

The match is a certified draw unless it crumbles on the 3rd day. 4 rpo from both sides is a given

lol You have to feel for the Indians here, there is no way they will bowl Aus out, they bat all the way to 11. Shouldve picked Aaron atleast he might have hit a few on the body...

Sam: "Kohli replacing Dhoni: No point in changing the cap of the bottle if the contents are bad, a shining cap will not yield better sales!!!! India's test team bowling attack - ZERO!!! Captain Cool or Captain Aggressive. No difference!!!!

Dropped half the chances they made.

Welcome to captaincy Kholi.

Disgraceful pitch. Not even RA is interested in this Test anymore.

Very ordinary bowling from Team Indias pie throwers though. Wasn't Kumar bowling at 110kmh or something. And looks like Malcolm Yadav outdid himself again.

Another truly horrible dead wicket.

The worry for poor India is this:

a) It was predictable that Yadav and Aaron would be useless on this tour: raw pace but awful line and length, and Yadav has gone backwards in the the last 3 years as he has lost his traditional swing.

b) Shami is as inaccurate as he is friendly-paced.

c) Bhuvi Kumar has proved correct all of us who said that he is too slow and too short to survive at Test level without help from the pitch for seam bowling or from the air for swing bowling.

India and Sri Lanka's awful "pace" attacks are going to lock the two countries into a dogfight for 6th and 7th place in the Test world these next five years.

lol even Watson scored fifty today, the pitch must be bad or Indians just bowled crap..:)))

Cut some slack. The guy is just coming back from an injury

Kumar did okay against Australia in the home series IIRC, kept prising top order wickets out including Warner.

Watson was always bound to happen. We've slowly and steadily nursed Watso him back to health. We always do that to atlest one batsman every tour.

Pitch was bad, but still 2/348 is disgraceful bowling. Other quality bowling teams would have taken four or five wickets even on this pitch. Bhuvi was bowling less than 120kph at times and that is not test standard bowling, it gives the batsmen ample time to relax and take off pressure as in a net practice session. In effect, going with a bowler who bowls 120 is like going with two fast bowlers, and good luck bowling out the opposition with this bowling unit on a wicket like this. Military medium pacers have no future on the flatbeds of today and they must never be selected in a test match.

What did Shami and Yadav achieve on this pitch?

Looks like another Run feast with India batting last in this match its going to be a struggle for them again, Aussies should be looking at 500 by tea on day 2 here.

I see no articles on cricinfo about "travesty" pitches lately! Probably waiting for cricket to return to Pakistan for them to bring out articles like that!

Arent most aussie pitches good to bat on in the beginning?

Two words. Poor. Bowlers.

Nothing there for the bowlers at all. Let's see if it will at least break up next few days. Where's the fast forward button when you need it.
