Amazing stuff: the light has been offered to the batsmen who have taken it! OZ have won the WC.

This is farcical stuff from the organisers - what's going on? Dar and Bucknor are telling everyone that the match isn't over as the batsmen can still come back out, while the stages are being brought on for the presentation!
 
I still dont get why they took the light! That is a really pathetic way to give up
 
Dar and Bucknor are saying that SL has to come out for 3 overs tomorrow and bat out the match. Mahela doesn't seem to want to but the umpires are insistent.
 
Now they've made Vaas and Malinga go back out.

it is too dark but only 3 overs left. just finish the game instead of trying to chase 60 some runs in 20 balls tomorrow. Players take your lighters out

if the match had finished with 3 overs left, they couldnt have come back tommorrow because they had already played 20overs.

sorry sir he forgot to ask. the game has to end either tonight or tomorrow. and you can't really have 3 overs bowled and ceremonies tomorrow
 
Out stumped possibly but it was too dark for Dar to see, so decision goes to the 3rd umpire.
 
Reminds me of the 1975 final, which also ended in farce, with half the crowd on the pitch.

Honestly they deserve it. I am just thinking that. Even though it sux for the game, they are just a terriffic team. Very, very proffessional.
 
cuz aleem was the one who was telling every1 what to do... bucknor looked like his assistant lol ....I think bucknor was abit embarassed
 
I think umpires in future realise that sometimes rules & regulation needs to be altered for the good of game
 
Sux to be an Aussie at the ground right now. Can't celebrate enough.
