Lee can bat ,lets see how he handles this pressure after a very very long time.

Bollinger at the crease and straight away an LBW shout but umpire says NOt out

wonderful straight drive by Bollinger for 2 runs off the last ball .

Wonderful shot by Bllinger lara :four

this partnership has brought the game alive.

Shaun Marsh is oozing with class and its unbelievable hes not in the test team

One of the classiest innings I've been privileged to see in recent times

What a great knock, Aussies please select Marsh, and kickout Smith
deserves a standing ovation

Can not believe how Steven Smith is in the side ahead of this guy

What an innings by Marsh! Should be in the squad unless Hussey gets 100% fit in time
He has experience of the sub continent conditions as well having played in the IPL

If Australia manage to play 50 overs, it will be an outstanding achievement

so Aus 230 all out ,a defendable total .Wonderful knock by Shaun Marsh

This is why i have been screaming at the selectors- why take two friggin keepers for gods sake to the World Cup. Take Paine, drop Haddin, and you can then pick Marsh to cover for Hussey.

Marsh has been in brilliant form and he is a T20 and IPL subcontinent specialist.

Smith is now officially useless as well, not that I ever thought any different. I was giving the kid a chance but he has not got "it" yet.

at one point, 230 seemed difficult to get. australia can defend this total.

Today's fightback is the reason no one can write off Australia in the World cup. They are a disciplined and motivated side that can still give the best of performances.

Except they left Marsh out of the WC squad :))

Stoopid Tait, he is PANTS. He is simply not fit enough or good enough, even in friggin T20.

And apparently we are taking him to the world cup! LOL

He is not at his best but he was also unlucky on two boundaries.
And I am sure he will bowl well in his last 6 overs.

And why will someone write off the number one team in the world?

Mr cool, Mr calm is at the crease, England's finisher from Ireland is at the crease to replace their number 3 from South Africa.

What went wrong?

The equation is still a run a ball, any decent team would still walk it. But this is England.

Marsh and Bollinger put on a hundred together? Ouch. Here's me thinking we'd got away with playing the second-string bowlers eh.

This is pathetic. A 'potentially' world-class (as we're always hearing) top six killing the run-rate and getting out to these sort of shots for the fourth LOI in a row. And they wonder why so many England fans are indifferent to limited overs cricket.

Morgan looks hopelessly out of form and ideas, and this tail is a phenomenally ugly one. I don't expect us to make 200.

Aussies are still a top ODI team and no shock that england are struggling here!

That was a horrid over from the spinner. Got us back in it a bit.

that's rotten luck for the guy given how long he has waited for a recall, and the timing of it...

from cricinfo's commentary:

-Poor, poor Hauritz. Shafted by incompetent selectors all summer and now this. Anyway, here's Watson.

Strong words by cricinfo and this isn't what a reader has posted.

Morgan is in terrible form.

Again, it's still a very manageable equation. But no chance with our half-baked attitude and poor form right now.

Bresnan batting with a runner - so, that's another injured seamer, and another cheap wicket round the corner. Nightmare of a series thus far.
