This was an abysmal batting line up Australia fielded. I'm really sad that england have let them get so many runs. They'll get at least 270 from here.

England bowled well at times but gave far too many extras. Part timers did well in the beginning, but at the end of their overs leaked runs (which is why the likes of Wright, yardy, Plunkett shouldn't bowl full overs).

I'd like England to chase this but England's batting line up is poor too. Australia's was poorer, but they did well to score so many runs. Plus Australia are playing with one extra bowler in hastings, so their bowling attack is stronger than it usually is.

AUS 279/7 (50.0 Ovs)

so end of AUS innings 280 is target for ENG.

aus innings which has exceeded 20 minutes,so play will start in 20 miutes

not bad ending openers sucked but low order bulid up very well

u cant hate AUS team

Off topic. But about the AFG Kenya match, there use to be a site that had updates for minnows matches. A real good one.

It was CricEurope or Cric Holland or something. I believe the site was based out of Holland. Any idea what I am talking aobut?

i know that site.
it is cricket europe

sorry mod .

Come on OZs destroy them poms, bara maza ata hey jab England harta hey

England 5/2 (2.1 ov)

1.6 Bollinger to Davies, OUT, that is a miserable ending to a poor innings. Length ball and Davies was sitting on the back foot, aimed a swish across the line and the top edge sailed up and Haddin did the rest. This might end quickly
M Davies c †Haddin b Bollinger 0 (6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

England 67/5.....The real England is back with a bang and Aussies have shown them where they actually belong.

Sure: better than Australia in tests; not as good as Australia in ODIs.

 who are talking about Test cricket? This is an ODI series and besides the WC is a 50-overs match and you have an idea of what to expect from England there..

You said 'the real Aussies are back', they have put England 'back where they belong', but that doesn't make sense - since when were England better than Australia in ODI cricket? Everyone knew the Aussies were going to win the ODI series, and nobody gives a monkeys that they have done. The Ashes was the only series on this tour that England and Australia fans cared about - and we trashed them. Beating them 2-1 at home and 3-1 away in tests leaves no doubt as to who the (far) superior test team is. It's still a successful tour for England.

Prior's playing gorgeously today, and looks a lot more comfortable at number 6 than opening the innings. Thing is, yet again in this series, England have been granted a generous chase with more than enough time to get the runs. We've scored faster than Australia scored in their first 25 overs. If we'd just kept a couple more wickets in hand! We keep losing loads of wickets in the first twenty overs, and from there, winning is nearly impossible.

A shame, but that was the kind of innings that would supplement a successful top order and help England win the odd game. A lot of these players need to have a really good look at themselves over the next few weeks.

England need to buck their Ideas up otherwise it will be the usual shambolic pathetic showing in another world cup on display in a few weeks time.

Luke Wright in 'potentially decent innings which will secure his place for the next few years' shock. Watch this space...

Sure Whips. Some PPers don't understand that tests are the gold standard.

By the way, Haddin's innings today was a disgrace. He is absolutely useless. Hopefully more and more people will realise this as time goes on - he just can't play. The Aussies have a middle order recovery to thank for a competitive total here.

133 off 128.

I reckon we will lose by about 70.

No one is saying otherwise. However, there is the small matter of the world cup in just a few weeks and England have been pretty shocking for a scoreline to read 6-1 to Aus. Australia were probably going to win the series anyway however I feel England needed to make it a more close and even affair to have as momentum and preparation for the WC.

Not so much when you consider that in seven matches they topped their best score against Australia, topped it again, then topped it again.

Also consider that Broad, Anderson, Bresnan, Morgan, Collingwood, Swann, Tremlett and Shezhad were all injured for some or all of the series. It's hard to replace all that experience, escpecially against the best ODI team in the world in their own back yard.

Just an insane schedule really. Five ODIs too many and they should have been before the Ashes, not after.

But you also have to consider that Australia were also without some key players, and if both were at full strength, Australia would win anyday, especially on the subcontinent.

Lols what a stupid excuse. Morgan played almost all matches, Colly is totally out of form, Swan has been poor of late too, Anderson has played the last 4 matches I believe and Tremlett and Shezad are not their regulars.

The only players they really missed were Broad and Bresnan.

And remember that Australia were also without experienced players such as Hussey and Ponting and in today's match Australia played without Watson, Clarke, Smith, Hussey, Ponting, Lee and still outclassed the England team which also missed some key players.

England are below average (in ODI's) and it will only take a World cup horror for them to realise it boys.

1. No need to insult me. Will you take that back, please?

2. I don't give excuses, I give reasons. England lost three of the world's top ten ODI bowlers for all or some of the series, then their replacements got injured too. Strauss didn't have the same attack from one match to the next so there was no continuity and he had to go with inexperienced guys - fatal in Australia.

3. Colly didn't score many runs but remains the world's best fielder and a good ODI bowler too.

Robert, England's batsmen looked awesome in the test series with the exception of Perth. At the time i put that loss down to a poor day at the office

but their performance last night against the extra bounce was equally inept

do you suspect that the English batsmen might have a touch of ftb about them?

Oh god definitely. Except Pietersen and Trott, who have played wonderful knocks in fiendishly difficult conditions, and of course, are not English :))

I think Michael Vaughan might want to take his comment back about how England is the best team in the world and how they will stream roll India.

Dunno what he said, but England are still a superb team in test cricket, and nothing that's happened in this useless jamodi series has done anything to change that

England just demolished Australia on their own tracks. India couldn't beat SA. The Indian batting will be more difficult to break down than Australia's but some of them are long in the tooth and we have the world's best opening bowler in English conditions and the world's best spinner.

Dunno about steamrolling, but I think it will be a good tight series.
