First test Match of the year 2012...Lets hope for an exciting test Match with quality Cricket.

Very Important Test Match as far as the series is considered...an
Indian win will ignite the series..and Australian win will pretty much seal it..

Inshallah Australia batter you. I want a win inside the first day. In fact the first hour. Anyways even though SCG helps spin apparently, Aus should have gone with four pacers with Harris included but same squad was kept.

I don't see Lyon doing to well however he is a heck of a talent! Good luck India but Australia will crush you, hopefully and Inshallah.

Not for 100th 100..but it is important for India to have atleast 2 of sach,dravid,sehwag and laxman have centuries....

Sydney traditionally has favoured spinners. Curators can make the pitch a little different but can't transform it completely. A pitch where often teams choose two spinners, I don't think you can go in without a proper spin option. Four pacers may give you an advantage, but if the pitch is turning and you don't have a proper spinner available and the quicks aren't finding the pitch helpful, then you're in trouble. Too much of a risk to go in without a spinner. Plus it's much better to show some faith in a spinner, who's probably looked the best bet since warne, and did very well in Sri Lanka.

Sydney helping spinners more than pacers is a myth. The reality is that Sydney does not help pacers as much as other Australian pitches..! See for yourself...spinners vs pacers at Sydney ...since 2000;

No-one understands my winning in first day post do they....... Also the fact that why I hoped Aus would go in with four pacers is pace is obviously there strong suit and this is what wins them test matches.

Indians are great players of spin as we all know and you pick bowlers to win you test matches of course. I don't think Lyon will win Australia a test match even though he is a brilliant talent. Indians will just dent and ruin his confidence which he has got and he is only early in his career.

You can still win India , just remember : Zindagi mein kuch wickets leni ho, Kuch runs hasil karna ho, Koi match jeetna ho, To hamesha apne chote se dil ki suno, Aur ager chote se dil se bhi koi jawaab na aaye ... To apni aankhein band karke apni Maa :afridi aur Baba :akhtar ka naam lo ... Phir dekhna tum her manzil paa sakoge, Her mushkil aasan ho jayegi, Jeet tumhari hogi ..... Sirf tumhari...

The team winning the toss my bowl first since the cruator has said it will have some grass on it and help bowlers on day 1.

I would have gone with Harris over Lyon too.

Despite that the Australian spinners statistic is dominated mostly by Warne, pacers have been more successful.

As I said, Sydney CG has favorder spinners more than other grounds in Asutralia... but it has not favored spinners more than pacer at SCG.

India won the toss, batted first, Tendulkar scored his 100th hundred and Team India went back to India to celebrate it!

Aussie bowlers will fancy their chances against Sehwag and Ghambir up front.
 
Good decision.. I would say India's best chance of winning is to put Australia to bat on deteriorating 4th and 5th day pitch . Lets hope for the best:asif
 
Bowling first Lyons in instead of Harris looks a bad move. Harris is arguably the most skillful of the lot.

Crucial toss won by India. Ashwin will really come into the game in the fourth innings. Patto looks fired up.
