Its Matthew Wade v South Africa today. Beautiful bowling by Morkel to Hussey, worked him over, kept the pressure up and was rewarded.
 
Man I would love to have these bowlers for India! Steyn and Morkel, I envy!
 
Morkel looks very smooth in action and still bowls faster than Steyn.
 
Need Steyn. Now! Less than 20 mins to Lunch.
 
If Peterson gets another over Smith is truly mad. Need Steyn now dammit.
 
Philaderer on. Need Steyn from the other end.
 
Wade has played well here, little support from last 3 , and he can get close to Sa total.
 
1st Test run for Hastings. Had to work hard for that one lol.
 
Hastings remind me of Praveen Kumar. He can be handy in swinging condition.
 
Wade seems to be seeing them like beachballs now. Middling every thing.
 
Steyn should have had another crack before lunch. Smith screwed it up big time. Probably the last over before lunch now.
 
And that's lunch. SA did well but could have done better.

Morkel 6'5"

Dale Steyn 5'10" to 5'11"

6" difference means more than just height. Longer levers aka wingspan

Steyn pushes the ball for the late swing along with seam to compensate for non-high arm action.

Morkel is a high arm seamer aka walsh, ambrose, Ishan. no swing. & that Walsh-like height of 6'5" with high arm release certainly looks more smooth.

Btw. What about Akram and Donald(may be he short) and Lillie I think these two are tall as well but they look like they are rushing in to bowl and actually feels like they are putting lots of effort to generate pace. Also, Waqar! (may be they are bit shorter)

When I say smooth, I meant action looks simple but generate immense pace.
 
Oh it's late 90's still don't recall these matches, may be I was fed up watching SRT of late 90's. :))

Bro.

Akram is 6'2" & NOT in the catagory of 6'4" - 6'5" (flintoff, walsh, morkel) but had strong core body & broad shoulders. so much lower body core strength was put into his quick bowling action incl shoulder that he generated good pace off short run up. 85+ MPH .

Donald is 6'4" in the same catagory as flintoff, walsh, morkel but donald was incredible athlete blessed with great bowling action specially how he got through the popping crease. the winding and unwinding like a spitting cobra was absolute pleasure to watch. generated some dangerous seam and swing off easy run up.

Waqar is 5'11"- 6'0" in the same catagory as Shoaib, marshall, steyn. But Waqar had stronger core body, better built and was best fast bowling athlete incl. stamina for that height. shoaib was never close. Waqar had thicker wrists & fingers & slightly longer wingspan (levers) at the same height as Shoaib. All this helped Waqar in looking smooth as he eased through popping crease despite complex sideways round arm bowling action. shoaib was also smooth but not because of his strength but because of his double jointedness that helped him

True.

Actually when Freddy bowled, he did look like he is banging the ball with effort! Walsh and Morkel had/have very smooth action. I can also add Amdrose. Minimum effort but lots of pace. I think Morkel is faster than Walsh and Ambrose.

I absolutely love Donald's action! I think it was even better than Steyn.

Shoaib had hyper-mobility due to his defective connective tissue in his joints. I am guessing he had Mild version of Elhers Danlos Syndrome. I tried bowling the way Akhtar used to bowl lol almost injured my shoulders.

Waqar is another bowler I would love to imitate. Tried bowling toe crushers. :)) Fun times in gully cricket.
 
Not that Wade has much of competition at the moment but this is career defining inning for Wade.

Steyn almost got him! :23:
 
This pitch gets better to bat on the longer the game goes, so if we can get close to the Saffer score from here we are in a good position.
