If a side that was struggling for form and confidence for a long time like Australia can find it easy to bat in the UAE chasing 280 plus on both occasions. Why has a side like Pakistan which has consistently been playing in the UAE for the last ten years failed to bat well in those conditions?

Even NZ has batted well in the UAE in comparison to our team. I mean when you have played in UAE for tehn years, shouldn't you be an expert on batting in these wickets?

Who do we hold to account for this? The players? The batting coach? Mickey Arthur? The Selectors? Whom?

I hope Wasim Khan is watching

They just aren't good enough.

If in 10 years they haven't gotten accustomed to the conditions then there's only one explanation, which is they just aren't good enough

Not really. Slow batting pitches don't mean you can't make runs, it just means that you can't go crazy from ball 1. If you get yourself in then there's runs to be made. Pakistan keep losing too many wickets in clusters, and they can't take wickets while bowling so obviously hammerings are on the cards.

Also the dew quickens up the pitches a bit making it easier, maybe Pakistan should try to chase next game

We are just a poor batting side. It’s simple as that. We have no world class batsman. Period. Heck even our bowling lineup is nothing to rave about.

10 years is a long time for anyone to address a problem.

Well, it is at least heartening to see our batsmen posting a total of above 280 in 2 consecutive games that too in the absence of some key players when in the past we could barely reach 220-230 even with our full strength. The problem is with our top-order specially opening, these 2 games were won and lost by the openers for their respective teams. Any team that loses their openers in first 5-10 overs is more often than not going to lose the match in modern day cricket where you have to set-up the game from ball one when batting first. Our openers have made sure that they get out within the first power-play to expose our brittle middle order to Aussie spinners who our batters are not able to taken on because of a fear of losing their wicket. Imagine, we being 100 for non or at worst 1 in first 15-17 overs like Aussies have been in this series so far , it would make life a lot easier for our middle order and we could easily go on to post scores above 320-330 which is a bare minimum on these pitches.
I don't want to talk about our bowling here as there is hardly anything to write home about about out current bowling .
