Australia's two CT matches have been abandoned due to rain, one left; Could it have the same fate?

2 games abandon, thus, they sit with 2 points after two games.

Last game left, now i would laugh if that also goes abandon due to rain.

Big chance for NZ. Beat England and Bangladesh and they're definitely in, lose to England and smash Bangladesh and they'll still be in as long as Australia lose.

If Australia don't gualify for semis I think India will defend the title. Just like Pakistan have a mental block against India, India have it against Australia it seems.

Australia is a superior side to India everywhere except when playing in India where they are at par with India.

What mental block is that? In last 5-6 years, two teams have faced each other in India and Australia respectively, we win in India, they win in Australia. We comprehensively beat them in ICC T20 WC in 2014 and 2016, so no block as such.

In Asian conditions India > Aus, in Aus - Aus >> India. Overall Aus > India

I do hope we get to play them in swinging seaming conditions in England (like today's pitch vs BD), our seamers will do well.

India's
Overall Record in ICC tournaments vs Australia
WC - 50 : 3-8
WC - T20 : 3-2
CT : 2-1

Overall : 8 - 11

Not bad but Aus definitely have an edge

Teri kal bohut jali na. Jali na. :P

Aus has been better than us but we have defeated them plenty of times in recent years in ICC tournaments - 2011 WC, 2014 WT20, 2016 WT20. Hardly one-sided like India Pakistan.

It remains for around a day. They will be back to normal in a week. Before the next Ind-Pak match it will reach peak mode - India FTB, Bowlers trundlers, Kohli sucks before it all collapses during the match.

And you know what - I wouldn't have it any other way. There is no cricketing pleasure from defeating Pakistan anymore. It's same as beating say Windies, Lanka or Bangladesh. The joy is going through Twitter, forums, Pak media post the match and see the immense disbelief and delusion. As if change in selections or playing "bravely" would have won the match. :P

These things are not mental blocks. It's just quality difference. There was no way we were winning in Australian conditions against Starc, Smith etc. When we have got them in Asian conditions we have defeated them whether it is ICC matches or bilaterals.

Similarly Pakistan doesn't have a mental block. They are simply weaker. Does Pakistan have a mental block too against the likes of NZ, Oz and Eng to whom they keep on losing? No it's simply lack of quality.

We defeated them in 2011 QF and 2007 WT20 SF, 2016 WT20 league, 2014 WT20 league.

What happens if 3rd Aus match is rained out as well

I am wondering what will happen if the third Aus match is rained out as well. And Bangladesh or New Zealand have the same 3 points as them. Will Aus go through with a better run rate more likely as NZ run rate is very bad Bangladesh though might be able to get a better than 0 runrate or the winner between Ban and NZ will go through as they have more wins.

The weather has been bad in general but Mother Nature has some serious beef with the Aussies in particular lol :))

They have had three matches washed out so far (warmup, NZ and BD).

If the third game rains out... will it be the first time such a thing has happened for any team in any tournament?

if team have same pt then it will decide by no of win if win count is same then by net run rate

Not to forget the recent T20 series in Australia, when Australia got whitewashed at home for the very first time.

Australia have been lucky with rain. Kiwis were clearly on top and against us they still had 100 runs to get with Fizz to bowl. That was even and we were confident with Fizz and Rubel.

Should I be laughing or what. The fact is you got saved by rain just like Australia against NZ. Having said that I feel sorry for Aus as they might be knocked out of the tournament without any completed game. The game forecast for Eng Vs Aus on Saturday is for rain all day. The World Champions will be done by divine intervention this time around dont know what they will feel as surely we will have plenty of noise if it is the case.

It is entirely possible that Aus middle and lower order sloggers would struggle against bowlers of Fizz's quality. Ultimately 100 runs is a lot and that was an even game.

Best tournament my foot if the current World champions have to go home without getting to play a single complete match. ICC should schedule better from next time around.

Rain has added extra drama to the tournament
