The average age of the team is 24 years old.

Compare it to pakistan A team today.

Your A teams should be a stop gap for younger players to progress into international cricket otherwise it becomes TTF playing ground instead.

I wonder than where are sadaf hussain and fawad alam , if age isnt the issue. They have been top performers in our domestic cricket over the years.

Eng in SL had just 3 30+ players - Moeen (31), Rashid (30) and Anderson (36) / Broad (32).

Pakistan had 6 - Hafeez (38), Azhar (33), Shafiq (33), Sarfaraz (31), Yasir (32) and Bilal (33)

Simple. Pakistan selectors lack long term thinking and are solely focused/concerned about winning in the short term. There are multiple reasons, the two chief reasons being - 1) Selectors saving current jobs 2) Chip on shoulder for being a mid-tier team for far too long

As a result they send full strength squads even against the likes of Zimbabwe and Bangladesh and their "proven performers" for A tours despite their age.

Tomorrow if we have a T10 competition, Pakistan will send their best players again.

Picking the odd 30 year late developer isnt the end of the world- spinners especially take longer to develop but these selections are ludicrous. It shows how poor the selectors are, if they only use stats for their selection criteria.

Shan Masood is the only heroic sifarishi. Started as sifarishi, played long enough to become a hero. His List-A stats speak for themselves.
