Anyone can be successful. Doesn't mean everyone is successful.

With Azam Khan's physique I don't see him being a particularly good wicket-keeper. Wicket-keeping requires agility, sharp reflexes, anticipation. Based how he fields and the fact that he has very little wicket-keeping experience to begin with, I seriously question if he will ever become even a half-decent wicket-keeper and I can't even contemplate the thought of him wicket-keeping for Pakistan.

I genuinely thought Sarfraz's career was over. But after seeing the standard of wicket-keeper batsmen in the PSL, I won't be surprised if Sarfraz manages to stay in there for a year and possibly even longer. Not only is he a vastly better wicket-keeper than everyone except Rizwan, but he has also managed to score a fair bit of runs this season which more or less guarantees his place in the squad for the near future.

Pros of having Azam Khan in the team over Sarfaraz :-

- He can play a quick fire innings (30 off 14) which could be the deciding factor for the result of the game.

- He can be used as a shield at silly point, forcing the batsman to play into the leg side.

- He can put cracks on the pitch when batting, which would be useful for our spinners.

- There’s no cons.

I think Zeeshan Ashraf should’ve been picked ahead of Azam Khan for the England tour. Azam Khan is being rushed into the team unnecessarily.

its about grabbing the oppertunity

to be fair to Azam Khan, he has grabbed it... he has played it well... Rohail Nazir had it .. failed... Zeeshan Ashraf could have done it yesterday..failed... so its about tht moement

be it on the field ... he has made runs and runs needed from him

off the filed, he as been proactive, getting likes of Styn on his friends page with his fishing activities.. these things count... they shouldnt but they do

plus Moin Khan will not let any stone in his path... so advantage

I haven't watched Azam much of late to be honest but for me it's not his power game that I question, it's his running between the wickets. If boundaries dry up, how quick is he with singles, twos and threes? Based on looks alone that looks like his biggest hurdle.
