This is the reason which led Misbah to play for 7-8 years. Fact is during Misbah's tuk tuk era we were told this team wouldn't be able to score 150 once Misbah leaves, but in reality the team scores have seen a huge spike ever since Mr. tuk tuk left.

He is probably pakistan best batsmen.I know his one day stats isn't great but his performance hasn't been worse than Rahane.Azhar ali and Fakhar Zaman is ideal opening combination for pakistan in ODIs.

After watching under 19s struggling to hold a bat, we need Azhar in the team just to hold up 1 end & bat untill the 45th over at least. At least bring some respectability to the nation.

Well he held up one end in the NZ series but just for an over or two.

How did the "hold up one end" plan worked out in the recently concluded ODI series against New Zealand?

Last year I didn't mind the opening of Azhar and Fakhar as Fakhar was the aggressor and Azhar rotated the strike and hit the odd boundary. Obviously Azhar would generally be slower in scoring than his partner, but even for a batsman who's role was to rotate the strike at a productive rate, he was terribly slow (plus looked ugly, technique wise, when the pressure of dot balls were built and he would go for that ugly hoick and get out). At this point in time, I just hope that Sahibzada has a killer PSL and makes his way to open with Fakhar in LOI.

Seriously people still talking about CT?

Why not bring back Asad Shafiq because he scored 78 vs Zim and 41 vs Aus in 2011 WC?

Or bring back Nasir Jamshed because he won MOS vs IND in Aane Do series?

We needed Azhar to score vs NZ and he didn't. He failed when it matters and should never be recalled to the LOI sides.
