Babar Awan has tendered his resignation as Prime Minister Imran Khan’s adviser on parliamentary affairs on Tuesday after the NAB filed a corruption reference against him.

“Rule of Law begins with me,” Mr Awan said on Twitter. “Thank you, Insafians for standing by me always,”.

In his resignation, Awan wrote: “I am resigning as advisor to PM to prove NAB’s baseless allegations wrong.”

Earlier, the NAB filed a corruption reference against Babar Awan and PPP’s former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf for delaying the Nandipur project.

The accountability watch dog stated that the delay in the Nandipur power project caused a loss of Rs27billion to the national exchequer.

Resigned within a couple of hours after NAB filed a corruption reference yesterday. Aleem Khan said he will do same if NAB inquiry against him turn into a reference.

This is Naya Pakistan for you...

Good, but when do we hear about the foreign funding case against Imran by Akbar S. Babar, the case from which Imran has been running for four years now.

Is he waiting for NAB to look into it, so that he can resign as PM before it is resolved?

Or does accountability not start with him?

Beautiful. This is what being accountable is.

Didn't his son pretty much force him to come into PTI too? Could easily have lived the life of Riley with PPP.

Running from or is it still under lawyer arguments? He simply wants the correct court to hear the case. I wouldn't want a family mediation court to listening to a murder case, so what's so different with this?

Seen Akbar Babar on twitter, he acts more like a wronged wife/bitter ex than Reham Khan. Still got PTI in his name too. You're not one of his customary 3 retweeters are you?
