They went into a Test match with Mohammad Nawaz at number 7, followed by 4 tail-enders. That is flawed tactics and a glaring oversight.
The tail started with Agha.

You need a strong and assertive coach regardless of how big of "brand" you want your captain to be. Babar isn't very adept with selections (picking the worst options of an already poor squad given by Mr Powerpoint).
Good thing is Saqlain is going in 2 months.
But the bad thing is Ramiz "showman" Raja believes in 6 month to 1 year tenures of coaches and isn't a fan of spending money on good coaches for the national team.
Apart from the fact that it is Pakistani team, it's becoming extremely hard to support this organization.
One bad day and these threads pop up, lul.
I have always believed that Akhtar can change the mindset like how Shastri singlehandedly turned a bunch of wimps into fierce warriors. Jazba and Daleri is need of the hour for Pakistan team. They may still not be world beaters for the lack of talent, but it should be more enjoyable to watch.

Babar isn't thinking about that at all. Saqlain told him Ali is there for 'long spells' and that's all what is there in his paindou head.More then bowlers I am more afraid it will be Babar that will be scarred more by Bazball. Hairs is your best T 20 bowler and he has bowled least overs this guy is cluless as hell to deal with some out of box thinking from opposition
I gave this guy a lot of chances. And even then only said to remove t20 captaincy from him.
However, now, with the nepotism and continued brain farting and timid tactics. It’s time to go.
He’s still a world class bat, and so he should just focus on batting.
Not all star batsmen are cut out to be captains. It takes a lot of mental stress to perform + be captain, and he clearly isn’t about that life. He’s like Sachin. It’s time to let the bat and only the bat do the talking my friend.
Why didn’t his keeper tell him? He doesn’t read the pitch of the ball?
Clueless thread from no surprise whom . Only batsman who is assured of his spot and lifts this mediocre team with his batting should be removed as captain. Which will make us Australia of 2000.
Changing captain is not gonna do any good to this team..
Elephant in the room is quality of the players.....
Babar Azam is the only batsman in this line up who can cope with reverse swing and cracks in this pitch if being exploited.. Other that in the lineup I only see Abdullah Shafique who can come close to some extent but he is very young & naive to test cricket as well..
Get rid off Azhar ali and Fawad Alam bring in players like Saud Shakeel and Kamran Ghulam.. GIve them the experience of test cricket to form a future team, instead of nothing batsman like Azhar and Fawad...
As i said earlier in this thread Babar should continue as captain.., his replacments are not there yet..
Well this team on the whole needs a person (coach) who can teach, develop, nurture talents and provide direction... I hope if they can hire some renowned coach with that skill would do a gulf of difference.. Im sure he wouldnt be the captain he is under someone like MA... All now he has is Misbahi and Saqi vibes to the core..
So I dont expect him to captain like Stokes, Kohli or anyone for that matter...
MA was doing well forming a unit in LOI. His formation of the LOI top order is still doing good and in use, and that should be the yardstick... If he doesnt form this side, Pak would be still playing Shehzad , Anwar ali and so on..
Yes he did mistakes in the test side of it , but wat is happening now isnt the same, couldnt win against Aus in home ground...thrashed by Eng batting at 7 RPO in a test match lol..
This team lacks guidance and some times not even reactive...
Good to see young players like Shakeel, Agha Salma and Abraar coming to the fore making names.. One leech Fawad gone , waiting for Azhar to be shown the door too..

Yet another home series loss on the cards this year. At this rate I won’t be shocked if NZ win too.
Just like Joe Root’s captaincy, Babar’s is going nowhere. He has to be sacked. Let him focus on his batting and give the captaincy to someone who has the right mindset.

You should have waited for the Test to finish brother
You have no replacement or alternative is the easiest cop out and excuse to stick with mediocrity.
Babar is not going to change or improve much with a new coach. He has now worked with Misbah, Saqlain, Wasim Akram and has looked poor every time.
Not all good batsmen end up becoming good captains ie Tendulkar, Lara, Root etc.
Pakistan needs Babar more as a batsman. Even as a batsman he has a lot to prove in all formats, he needs to be scoring big daddy hundreds and taking Pakistan to victory. He is risking his career by carrying on with the captaincy for which he is clearly unsuited 3 years into the job.
Each and every moment and decision you make as captain ie selections, bowling changes, field placings, team strategy, match strategy is vital where incompetence and mediocrity cannot be tolerated forever.
I would go with Shaheen. He should be fit by next series. Vice captain Saud Shakeel.
For odi and t20 make shadab captain with vice captain shaheen.
Shadab in lois and rizwan in test cricket are the only possible replacements as of now

Then what is your solution?
Someone else apart from Babar. Don't care who at this point.
Someone else apart from Babar. Don't care who at this point.
Tell me how he has done poorly in this test. Should he teach others also how to bat or put some common sense into Faheem who was giving strike to tailenders on the first ball of the over. The rot runs deep and no captian can change it. Babar is the only person who has an assured spot in this team and isn't injury prone.
Well, he can start by not leaving the reversing ball outside off
Well, he can start by not leaving the reversing ball outside off
Come on man, the ball was miles outside the off stump. It reversed back absolutely prodigiously.
If this had been a Pakistan bowler, you would be praising him and sending your commiserations to the English batter.
It took Wasim Akram one season to tell Babar to take a hike from Karachi Kings. But expect the incompetent PCB to do things differently
More than reversing, the ball certaincly hit a crack. Root was pointing at the exact point where the ball pitched.
But hating is blind, so Rana you are right continue to hate.
The unnecessary hate Babar gets is unreal. It reminds me of my childhood memories with Sachin's captaincy. Why is it difficult to admit that England is far superior test side than Pakistan?
NO VIABLE OPTIONS OTHER THAN BABAR ATM GLARING REALITY
Rather than replacing captain we are better off finding a couple of lethal pacers and rock solid batsman
IndeedAnd an actual coach.
If you guys want a change of captain in tests the only option is Shan Masood.

Indeed
The player who averaged 2.50 in his last series![]()
Its the only option.
Thats why I think we need to stick with Babar ane instead of changing the captain, change the coach.
