What's new

Balochistan [212/3] defeat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa [323/5] by 4 runs (D/L) in the Pakistan One Day Cup

I'm happy that IK and Ifti were dispatched to all parts

What is that old man fielding by IK at the boundary

Rizwan should employ spinners from both ends, Maqsood will fall soon after

he has right approach yto modern day cricket and can improve if pak persist with him

brendon mucculum said before PSL starts when asked about which qalandar young player are you excited

about his reply was fakhar zaman "he looks a real deal""

surely he has some talent and ability

also from ajmal during his peak days, when asked after playing the similar domestic limited overs tournament who that he thinks is good.. he said he found it difficult to bowl at zaman...

this is huge compliment for fakhar at that time i hope he works on his weakness than he can become very

handy

Another "leg-side hack" by Fakhar through the point region

2 boundaries and a single through the point-cover region by "leg side hack" off this Zafar over.

He deserves a chance over TTF Akmals and Shezads and Azhar Ali who is not even a modern ODI bastman. If Inzi does not select Fakhar and top young performers in this cup and goes for TTFs it should be clear he's a sham person.

Even if he does, he will be warming the bench. You cannot play 3 all rounders in starting XI. That will be criminal. Sri Lanka did it and suffered terribly.

Plus, since 15 players will travel England with 11 in starting lineup while 4 in bench, I think 2 out of 4 bench warmers will be specialist bowlers, 1 opener (Fakhar) and 1 middle order (Haris/AsifZakir). No room for allrounder

Hope Yamin gets another 50 today. That'll seal his spot for the CT.

I still do not like the way Fakhar plays. Too much space between bat and pad.
Sick of his horizontal bat shots.

Do not go by his numbers' domestic cricket/bowlers are way below int standard.

Exactly, people are hyping him despite seeing the clear issues. It's the same domestic tournament where the likes of Ifti are batting like gods.

On the other hand, England does it and the results are for all to see.

Imagine this:

6. Imad Wasim
7. Aamer Yamin
8. Shadab Khan
9. Sohail Khan
10. Mohammad Amir
11. Hasan Ali

Bench: Wahab Riaz (turns up in ICC tournaments), Junaid Khan, Mohammad Asghar

Tell me that doesn't look deep in both batting and bowling?

And even if Yamin is made to warm the bench, at least he'll be involved in the setup which is better than nothing.

This actually is pretty good. Love to see this soon.

Very good line-up if top 5 sets up the platform. But this leaves only 4 batsmen, excluding Sarfraz, which'll force Malik to bat at 4, that I don't think he is capable of in UK. This line up can only work with solid 1, 2, 3 & 4; of which only Babar is there - Haris at 4 may work if he delivers, but then Malik has to be dropped.

It's better to have Yamin for Imad, who'll be ineffective in UK & play Haris at 4 - he can bowl few overs of SLAO. 3 pacers are must + Yamin, Shadab & MoHa+Malik makes a balanced attack.

Sure, but the line-up I posted is something that could work in all conditions, and not just the CT specifically. If we're talking only CT then I agree with your proposal, in that Imad could probably make way for Haris (though Mickey won't drop Imad).

Adding on to my line-up, my top 5 would be:

1. Mohammad Hafeez (if he really has to play and if my line-up is to be implemented, then might as well just shove him here)
2. Fakhar Zaman (or Umar Amin, but Fakhar really does deserve a prolonged run)
3. Babar Azam
4. Sarfraz Ahmed
5. Shoaib Malik

Beyond CT, there shouldn't be any place for Sohail. Also, more dynamic openers than MoHa & Fakhar is required. May be, Babar can open, so that Haris can be accommodated.

Babar can stay at 3. Talat or Amin with another right hand batsmen.

Discussion is for a different formation - 5 batsmen, in that case Malik has to be dropped, which shouldn't be, because none of the openers can add more value than Malik at 5. The formation is Babar, Lefti opener (Amin), Sarfraz/Haris, Haris/Sarfraz, Malik ............

In an ideal world i would drop hafeez but he is undroppable.

I wouldn't be upset with that line up.

I hope Amin gets a good game tmw while akmal family fails... another 100 from him and haris will take them to CT for sure...

Won't - if they are picked, it's prior decision, scores of this tournament has hardly anything to do with it - I actually am not sure if Inzi is aware of the scores here. Being PAK Captain, he took a Test to day 5 for 15 minutes, despite 90% chance of thunderstorm, because he wasn't aware of that 30 minutes extension rule - a playing condition, that he signed as Captain, prior to the series.

Most Pakistan players lack match awareness.

This commis are so poor - the burning question for every one now is what is DWL per...... and they have no clue.

Happy for Balochistan.

Hope Yamin has done enough to get selected for the CT. Really wish he got a chance to bat today.

That would also work, as Babar has played as an opener previously for the most part.

However, he is doing fantastically well at #3 and I don't think he should move from there. Besides, Hafeez isn't going anywhere until the 2019 WC . :/

Still think Fakhar deserves a proper run. He doesn't seem to be on the slower side, especially from what I've seen in the Pakistan Cup. His technique is awkward but he's still topping charts and I don't see him a better option than him at the moment. If not him, then open with Amin or as a last resort, Talat or even Sarfraz.
