Balochistan First XI Head Coach Faisal Iqbal: “The selection of the squads was based on a thorough assessment of the players based on a wide-ranging selection criterion. I want to thank the coaches of the Balochistan second XI and U19 teams along with the first XI assistant coach, who all played a vital role in the selection of this squad. I am confident the Balochistan squad will impress and prove to be a real competitive unit across the three formats. We have given opportunities to the local talent from the province and the performers have been given their due. The squad is well-balanced and full of exciting players.”

Are there 2 Amad Butt?
Second one is in Northern's Additional players squad.

Balochistan were always sadly going to struggle due to a lack of local talent. However it's heartening PCB are trying to strengthen them as much as possible, therefore Balochistan appears more of a "Rest of Pakistan" team - at least until proper investment into academies and a HPC in the province can be made.

Sami Aslam has transferred from Southern Punjab, as has Umaid Asif to bolster their seam department. I don't know why Adnan Akmal has been transferred when Balochistan already have a keeper in Bismillah Khan. They've exchanged Mohammad Asghar with Sindh for Kashif Bhatti probably to provide control as Yasir Shah can be expensive.

Legspinner Usama Mir has moved from Northern's 2nd XI in a surprisingly thoughtful move from PCB - he can directly replace Yasir Shah when he goes on international duty.

Strengths: A solid top order with Sami Aslam, Imam-ul-Haq and last season's highest QEA runscorer Imran Butt.
Weaknesses: The seam department still looks weak. PCB should've given Balochistan a couple of KPK's seamers as they're overflowing with seam options.

Possible XI: Aslam, Imam, I Butt, Haris, Farhat, A Akmal, A Butt, Yasir/Mir, Bhatti, U Asif, Wali
Players to watch: Interested to see how Usama Mir carries the spin attack once Yasir Shah leaves for Pakistan duties. Let's also see if Imran Butt can replicate his performances from last season. Haris Sohail badly needs to rediscover his form.

Second one is in Northern's Additional players squad.

Yes there are two. This is the all rounder Amad Butt which we know about. I was also confused seeing two and was surprised seeing Amad Butt as additional in Northern.

Another pacer from the U19 setup in the form of Akhtar Shah. Hayatullah is a pretty decent 20 years old offie.

Gotta beat South Punjab in their last match otherwise it's all over for Balochistan.

Could be a 3 way fight for that fourth place if SP beat Sindh tonight.

Feel sorry for Balochistan, again they gave a good fight this season but were unlucky with Akif Javed getting injured.

Just don't think they had enough batting firepower. Haris Sohail, as well as he captains the sides and gets the most from limited resources, isn't a natural T20 batsman.

Abdul Wahid has promise though and I look forward to seeing him in QAE Trophy and Pakistan Cup.

Faisal Iqbal, although I heavily criticised his appointment, actually has surprised me so far. He's given chances to youngsters, and promoted Abdul Wahid from the 2nd XI in place of Imran Farhat.

Were going pretty well until Akif’s injury who was the leader of their attack. Overall good fight from them surely in this season too.

Need to draft in or maybe find couple of young dynamic batsmen for limited overs cricket. Abdul Wahid has shown some skills and hopefully will get better once he plays more games at this level.

On the other hand Amad Butt couldnt really click in the batting for them this time around to provide good finishes.

That's what pcb should be looking at when they ***** the coaches how they promoted the youngesters, were they given a reasonable chance.

How many players from the Baluchistan squad are actually ethnic Balochis? Sincere question.

Come on Faisal, its time to give Bangalzai a go or atleast let him play 2nd XI cricket.
