Bangladesh [160/8] defeat Sri Lanka [159/7] by 2 wkts, to play India in final of Nidahas T20 series

I think, 2nd ball was 2nd bouncer - it has to be a NO ball, with a free hit.
 
Next Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka match should be held in a Jungle so that all the Saperas and Naagins feel at home. :inti

I just can recall a similar situation from past - Gavaskar called his partner forfeiting the MCG Test 1981, only stopped by Pataudi (Manager); then Kapil won the Test later defending 124.

This Mahmudullah always gets the job done in the end, he's very uncharacteristic of typical Bangaldeshi batsman who mostly fails in the end.

Those two were the legal deliveries. Shakib is lucky that Mahmudullah was there to save the day.

It was always there - just felt sorry for Lankan boys.

By the way, you were wrong in your last comment - 2nd ball was legal, if it was 1st bouncer of the over. BUT, it was 2nd bouncer of the over to same batsman - should have been called NO ball.

Tamim always come across more down to earth and matured fellow. I have hardly ever seen or heard that Tamim was involved in any form of controversy. He’s like Rahane of BD.
 
What an amazing finish and great drama. Never seen anything like that when Shakib asked his players to walk off.

He had an altercation with Zaheer Khan earlier in his career. Dont know whether Zaheer started that. But that was when he was young.
 
One of the bd fan here taking us in the past and reminding us of Gavaskar 🙄 , Man they are unbelievable, looking like as classless as they can. Cobra dance is funny.
 
You can only have one bouncer an over in t20 right? So that should have been a no ball. But calling players off for one bad decision in a meaningless game doesnt look good on bangla
 
All these over the top ugly celebrations of Bd is only to get thrashed by 2nd String Indian team in the Final.

What Tamim said later in interview that leg umpire signaled a no ball and rightly so and then confusion started all over. It was a semifinal and heat and emotion got over Shakib.But yes things could have been handled better.

Thanks, I saw the same. That would have made 5 balls, 10 runs and a free hit.
 
The issue was that the ball went over the shoulder not once but twice. That's why it should be no ball

Apparently the leg umpire first called it no ball
 
This has all the looks of a CT final Deja Vu for India. Beaten by a team riding on momentum.

Thx for clearing that up. I got reall upset after seeing that behaviour from shakib. But looks like he was right to call his players off the field. Pathetic, biased umpires.

Nothing warrants a walk off. That will remain pathetic. Good that he accepted his mistake.

There is no doubt at all that the 2nd ball was a no ball.One run , a free hit missed by Bangladesh.We won and we can forget it now.

Decision was wrong no doubt but calling his players off is not the way to play this game. BD are already considered bad losers ... this"ll only make matters worse.
 
Gavaskar defending the walk off at MCG saying he was abused. That is pathetic plus selfish as well.

It was a stupid act from Shakib, no doubt. But, if Shakib is called to Match Referee's room (he should be), that Umpire should also go there.
 
BD are on a high after this. Will be a good final.
That cobra dance has to stop. It does not look like they are celebrating but it feels like they are mocking the opposition. They can do some push ups like Pakistanis did.

Shakib can't hold his emotions.

I would have forgotten even had we lost - it's part of the game.

But, I didn't like someone so bullishly commanding something with so little knowledge. That ball was "illegal" not for the bouncer; it was illegal for being the 2nd one over shoulder to same batsman in an over - that's cricket rule. Moreover, Umpire called it, then his loyalty got better of his professional ethics.

But again - never supporting Shakib here, he should watch the Final from dressing room.

Those days Australian umpiring were extremely biased. Even now that incident is not glorified. Same way Ranatunga trying the same when Murali was noballed.
