Bangladesh (169/6) defeat Sri Lanka (168/7) by 4 wickets in a nail biting encounter of Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2025

I think this is already too much for BD to chase. I have seen BD chase 140 ish by struggling many a times - regardless of the field they played on. BD is a 140-160 team on most days.
 
SL were all set to score 200 ish - then pretty much gave it away. Had it not been for those dropped catches, the score would have look worst.
 
Great match so far, and the first innings isn’t over it. Literal see-saw between these two sides, and Shanaka is having one of those days.
 
168,7 Advantage Sri Lanka at the halfway mark

Not impossible, but chasing this will take some doing
 
Shanaka played a gem.

Without Shanaka, SL might have ended with 140-150.

I think 168 is a great total here.

Last ball of the innings. Gave him a half tracker. Absolute khet! Bowl outside off make him go up and over if he can!
 
Good comeback from BD..SL at one stage going for 200 but BD restrict them to under 170. Probably 10-15 runs more for BD liking . BD still have a chance to chase this . Pitch is better to bat . Litton Das is the key for BD and he need to show his class today.

160 plus too much for BD mental midgets like Hridoy the dwarf dropped two easy catches living on past performance lucky to be in the squad
 
If SL win today, Pak-SL can become a knockout.

If BD win today, Super Four can become wide open.
 
Did Shakib retire? Saw him playing in CPL recently during the highlights. Bro still has bite left in him ... clearly better than some of the players playing now

they made poor decision in last game as well when Liton only played 4 bowlers.

Emon is dropped in favor of Saif. Also not a great call

You're assuming that PAK will go ahead and win against BD. Pak is no world beaters and a shell of their past team.

Yeah. He is done with international cricket. Retired officially.

I think he can play for USA now. His wife is an American citizen. Not sure if he got the American citizenship yet.
 
Crazy decision to leave Rishad the leg spinner out who did so well last match, for Shoriful who is utter rubbish bowler. Liton das and his pea brain makes many brainfart decisions. Will be ousted as captain very quickly if he keeps doing this.
 
I think BD would've loved to restict SL to 155. They away 13 runs too many.

Anyway, it is chasable in Dubai. Dew may play a factor.
 
SL and BD played a T20 in Dubai in 2021 Asia Cup.

BD scored 170+. SL chased it down.

Situation is opposite today.

I think the bigger issue was selecting Nurul Hasan who can't even bowl. They were lucky in the last game because Nasum bowled a match-winning spell in the powerplay but I think they have too much confidence in their pace attack. This Dubai wicket is more conductive to spinners and seamers who take the pace off the ball like Fizz.

Good bowling by Thusara 👏👏. I hope Sri Lanka goes ahead and beats the Nagin' dancers well today.
 
Even the Tanzid wicket came off a 123 kph slower ball by Thushara. BAN seamers besides Fizz didn't bowl according to conditions
 
Saif Hassan is rated by many BD fans as a powerhitter. Now is his time to show if he's worth the hype.
 
Interesting fact. Saif Hassans mother is Sri Lankan! Bet most didnt know!
 
Sensible batting. A few odd risks and singles. BD needs to keep at least 7 wickets to chase 60-70 in the last 6-7 overs
 
Where is asia's 2nd best team afghanistan. They seem to be missing from the super 4s.

He improved recent bpl few bpl has been hitting them well. His game changed used to be a defensive player before. Gained some muscle recently too

BD are keeping up with the RRR. Need to continute.

Need to bring that RRR down to 7 or less.
 
Liton das has to lead from the front otherwise he will be just like that salman pathetic agha.
