What's new

Bangladesh [260 & 221] defeat Australia [217 & 244] by 20 runs to win the first Test

Lol why has this thread all of a sudden died :))) :))) ???

Relax guys Bangladesh got this...... :ma

That Sumaiya Sarkar drop of Warner at slip when he was on 14 decided the match. Useless player, darling of Hatura.

Australia is going to win. I am not hoping for a miracle.

Can someone tell me why Taijul is in the team? Can't take more than occasional 1 or hardly 2 wickets.Needed to step up in this innings but he is not a quality spinner.

Name a team that plays with 4/5 top quality cricketers and the rest are there to make up the numbers. Hint- starts with B

Match in the balance now but Australia should never have been allowed to get so close.

If these two can survive till lunch then match over for us. Need two, or ideally 3 wickets before tea

I smell collapse but Bangladesh could have definitely won if there was 50 more runs in the bank. Mazwell might take the game away from us

How come this thread is empty. Match became a complete humdinger.

74 more runs needed BD Need 4 wickets

Matthew Wade is probably the worst wicketkeeper-batsman in Tests currently. Only Dowrich gives him competition for the bottom spot.

Maxwell and Wade both can pull it back.no chance of relaxation for Bangladesh Bangladesh

Well played Shakib. Truly world class.

Patt Cummins is very unlucky. Almost won a match against India too. Gives his all.

Congratulations MMHS Executioner Mainul

Why don't Aussies follow the match?

I thought Australians watch test cricket more religiously

Khawaja and Mustafiz should be MOM for their great batting performance. Sakib is the best all rounder cricket has ever produced.

1st time shakib playing against aussies and 10wkts and half century. What a class performance. Truly world's current best All rounder.

Easily done. People dont know the heart of Bangladesh. We are giants of cricket now. 2-0 assured.

Shak is a giant of the game.

Its time to bump up posts where Bangla fans were getting carried away and claiming Bangladesh is going to win. If anything, a win for Bangladesh would be to save test matches within 2 days.

Which post will you be bumping up today? :smith

Well played Bangers.

Said all along our batting had only two reliable contributors and a whole lot of inexperience/TTF's in the other spots.

Will the prepare a road for 2nd test or go for the kill at 2-0? I'd love to see them go for the kill but I suspect they are still unsure of their place in world cricket and will be conservative. Then again, maybe I don't know Bangla psychology...

Surprising results considering how it was in the morning,Aussies have kinda have no clue anymore about what to do in Asia.

Congrats to all the BD posters!!

Flat wicket? Chittagong wicket is traditionally the most spin friendly wicket in the world unless doctored to be flat for 5 days which drew immense criticism.

Bangladesh don't win too many matches. A risk of drawing the test series is worth it if it gives us a chance to win another test match and whitewash a top team.

Only issue is that the wicket in CTG will be even more spin friendly but more predictable turn and bounce.

That was exactly my question, will they go flat or push for more wins? I don't know much at all about Chittagong, we hardly play there - unfortunately for all.

If it is more of the same, or a turner that plays a few less tricks then I say great for cricket, bring it on and let Oz try to improve & Bangladesh show they can win consistently against "big" sides at home.

A flat track would be such a let down so that Chittagong is a result pitch is good to hear.

Thanks mate. It's really a proud and pleasing moment for me.After following cricket for nearly three decades my own team has come to the party now beating top sides on regular basis.

Just the start I was hoping for. hopefully the coach's braindead antics will come to end.

Forced a specialist opener who averages 28 to bat at 3 just to keep a batsmen who averages 47 out of the squad.

The puts a LOI specialist to bat at #4.

You can't expect anything more than 10-3. Alhamdulillah. Just hope Imrul bags another duck in the 2nd innings and Tamim, Shakib, Mushy, and Nasir score enough runs for us to win.

When we get a coach who isn't biased against your best player.

It's time for Hatura to drop his two darlings from the team and let Mominul and Mosaddek to come in.Imrul and Nasir should be persisted with. They have the composure to be successful in test cricket. But knowing Hatura, autocratic coach, the chopping dagger will come down on Nasir at least and Sumaiya Sarkar will get another test.

Congratulations Bangladesh! Really heartening to see this team take on and close out matches against top sides.

Don't think 1 week is enough time to change the pitch from a dustbowl to a highway. Maybe I'm wrong.

But we won't want to miss out on the chance to go 2-0, especially since the players kept going on about before the series. Very nearly lost this match, so got lucky to not be humiliated with that kind of unprofessional talk.

Thanks my country man.Lets enjoy our presence in Pakpassion now up untill 2nd test.

Thanks to everyone here.

Indeed a great win, though it ended too close to comfort for an outstanding counter attack in innings by Warner.

Now I'll definitely take a day off before the effective last day of the 2nd Test 😝

Fantastic work by BD here. Congrats to all BD fans!

yes. Why is this even a qs

It will take 3-4 75+ score for me to shed off his subcontinent image

LOL no idea how I wrote that question mark at the end; din't mean to.. Yes him and Khawaja have no place in SC. Although Warner will continue because of lack of choice..

Brilliant

Now even the haters can't deny Bangladeshi progress

Well done Bangladesh! Enjoy the win and remember people will find a way to criticize you, no matter what.

Congrats to Bangladesh on the win.

Australia actually got quite close, without the dead weight they might have even won it.

Where were Shaun Marsh (Khawaja), Starc, Pattinson and Neville? Convict

Starc injured or rested for ashes. On BD wicket Pattinson would offer nothing.

Shaun Marsh I believe was dropped
