Bangladesh [262/7] beat Afghanistan [200] by 62 runs in the 31st match of the 2019 World Cup

Shakib to Nabi, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!! :hamster:
Two massive wickets in the same over.
Told ya.

Gharoor ka sarr neecha.

Afghanistan shouldn’t make overconfident statements.

They have a long journey to become a decent side.

Sakib won at least 50% matches for Bangladesh with is individual brilliance. IF he was more humble he would go far away.

According to some, Afghanistan were the dark horses of this WC.
Where are those people?

Mashrafe, the top most useless player in BD has an economy rate of almost 6 runs per over even in this match where everyone else has an economy rate of 4 or less.

Mashrafe might be a good captain but seriously deserves no place as a player!

Shakib can't do anything wrong in this world cup. He will be the man of the tournament for sure.

He is past his expiry date. The more he prolongs his career the more disgrace to himself . I don't think he will play after world cup. Nevertheless he has taken Bangladesh cricket to the next level. He will be regarded as our legend. Hats off to him

If BD reach semis Shakib might be player of the tournament on current form.

Someone should Tweet the AFG CEO of Cricket board and offer help. Its like a person from the street telling a well to do people how to earn your living.

Alhamdullilah thanks boss for your analysis :amla

Told you, that was six in most grounds............. IRL & SCT are comfortably better side than AFGs, in these conditions probably Dutch as well. I hope next WC, ICC will arrange qualifiers in the same/similar condition that the main event is happening. It's not fair that AFGs play WC by qualifying in ZIM and IRL, SCT, Netherlands miss out very close to their home, on familiar conditions.

I know that and for all you know he keeps the ego of BD superstars in check and it might get difficult after him but right now he and Dhoni as players are liabilities to their team.

Shakib has bowled seven overs for 10 runs and 4 wickets..... He will be key in next matches in race for 4th SF spot.:ravi

Bangladesh would be on the bottom list If Sakib didn't play in this World Cup due to injury. Only think I don't like about him his arrogance but talent wise he is God -gifted.

Today Mushfiq was the top scorer , last match as well.

BD played the Asia Cup final without Shakib , beat Pakistan as well without Shakib and Tamim

Not in these pitches. He is 1 in 3. Batting/bowling/fielding. AFG would have scored 200/3 if Sakib didn't ball.

131 from 15 overs

Afghanistan has not been able to get couple of solid partnerships , that has hurt them most here

Well said brother but i don’t want to speak too soon. If the next qualifier is in India then Afghanistan will surely make it. Need two more wickets, Boss what do you think of Mashrafee’s captaincy and us having the worst strike rate for pacers 280+

Bangladesh making hard work of this poor Afghan side.

Nice to see Bangladesh competing well in this tournament overall as they did in the CT.

Just a shame for their fans, they will be hammered in their remaining games against Ind and Pak ending up just 3 bottom in the end.

Hard work? Did you see the last match at this ground between India and Afghanistan?

He has 2 more games to play - let him, done enough to deserve that. Not sure why came to bowl those 2 overs though, may be Saif isn't 100%

Idiots are hitting direct today .... could have been in SF by now:(

Hopefully afg haramkhors will lose all 9 matches. That will show them their aukat.
Afghan people are far better than these boot licker players. I want them to loose every matches as well.
No brother!!!! The followers of Imam Mahdi will come mainly from there.
Don't be confuse with the people from authority.

Yes looked suspicous from the Indian POV.

Bangladesh scored enough, in fact 50 too much at the minimum. But your bowling is weak esp the lack of fast bowlers.

Imagine we swap just our weather luck with NZ. Our games against Aus or Eng is washed off, we play SRL and won.

NZ played IND and lost while SRL game was washed off lol.

I doubt - their younger players are technically not that good. Only couple of spinners (Nabi won't be there) are not enough. Other 3 teams I mentioned are much more athletic, MUCH better fielding unit and more professional. In fact, ZIM will smoke past AFGs in a year's preparation if they fix their mad house.

WI was pretty unlucky to miss semis as well. They couldve won against RSA and NZ. They will crush AFG and SRL.

A good team will go to the next level regardless of a good captain or not although a good captain certainly helps. The main reason BD have been performing for the past few aears or so is because their main core of players that have been playing for more than a decade are hitting their peaks. Mashrafe is just wasting a spot a team in the team for quite some time now. Typical Desi mentality, won't leave even if its in the best interest of the team.

I'm amazed at how good these Bangladesh close-in fielders are and their match awareness. Something that is clearly there to see for all. Well-done.

He is different - he was asked to come back in T20 as well, but declined. He is playing this WC, because he was quite fit just couple of months back and had a brilliant league season. BD's coaching staff is also quite new - Rhodes himself wanted Mash to continue till WC.

I am still scared brother :odoyo

What is BD lose this one and win all others and what if Pak wins everything except BD one?
Im guessing in such situation NRE comes

Also windies can win all their matches and it will be a 3 way tie between PAK,WI and BD. These are possibilities but it all depends on one of the top 4 failing so there's no point thinking about all that. Pakistan's route is fixed - beat everyone and they will have knocked out both BD and WI. Last thing PAK team should do is play aggressively for NRR and end up losing matches. Anyway, i think the result of tomorrow's match will give us a better idea.

The Bengalis are way more cricket smart than some of our agricultural cricketers. They seem to do the basics well. They are 2nd best team in WC at non boundary scoring as per Andy Zaltzman. They also field a darn well better than our butter fingers fielders.

I am just saying. It's surprising how good bottom teams played this tournament. Goes to show you rankings are not exactly accurate. There is no way WI is that low in the ranking. They almost destroyed Aus. Their players are just thick headed and dumb, they wanted to blast NZ within 30 overs lol.

Someone has to be at the bottom - Loss by 5 runs or 500 runs doesn't matter for ranking spots. Also, they don't consider Home, Neutral & Away venues for ranking and WIN doesn't play with best possible XI for most times. I think, ranking is fair reflection of the teams over a period, but definitely not contemporary status. Therefore improving teams will always look lower ranked than they look while aged teams often are higher in ranking because of past results (but their aging players can't match their past best).

MMHS, really poor performances by BD bowlers. AFG could have in winning position without Sakib's individual brilliance.

It's because this WC there are no cannon fodders like Canada and UAE. The so called weak teams can pull off a result. Makes for a better tournament where you have to be on your game all the time.

Maybe not the Afghan batsmen are not smart at all, should have played out Shakib and went for the win. Thew it away.

Doesn't work that way - game was won with 263. Shakib is in brilliant touch both with bat & ball, and he has got the chance to bat at 3, so cashing on. On this track, if not Shakib they could have played Taijul or Nayeem and they would have been equally if not better with ball. But, obviously a player like Shakib is almost 3 in one - something I wrote during NZ tour, when trolls had a field day.

This WC, the biggest flop has been Rashid. I think, his bowling has become ineffective because teams now don't try to slog him, while his batting purple patch wasn't to be there for long. A gun T20 player still though for the six hitting ability and those 4 overs will be tough to slog. He'll end with one of the best ever inflated bowling stats in ODI, but not nearly as good.
