What's new

Bangladesh (271/7) defeat India (266/9) to win 2nd ODI by 5 runs

It was a pleasant surprise that BD reached 271. They were like 70/6 at one point.

Mehidy seems to be in good form.

Will Rohit Sharma bat or is he out of the match?

Miraz batted well today but was expensive with the ball. He has 2 overs left. Those 2 overs need to be finished quickly.

What a pathetic cricketer this Thakur guy is!

Will be great if we lose this series. Hopefully, the useless oldies will be booted out, along with 'young' Rahul.

Sadly they didn't learn even after WC debacle... People have slowly started losing interest in cricket (in India)

At least Rohit has come out to bat. Wonder why he waited to come after Chahar and Thakur because those 20 mins wouldn't have healed his thumb anyways and it is foolish to think those two would have won the game and he wouldn't be required.

Rightly so.

We didn't learn anything after debacles of ODI WC '15, then ODI WC '19.

I think that's more to do with him not being allowed to bat for certain number of overs as he didn't field for quite a few overs of BD innings.

59 runs are needed from 5 overs.

Mehidy has 2 overs left. India may target those 2 overs.

Who are these people who are losing interest in cricket in India? Are they those fans who only watch cricket when India is winning? You can call them plastic fans or glory hunters. :inti

I think what he is alluding to is fans losing interest due to Indian cricket being held hostage to vested interests over last few years, with this year being pinnacle (hopefully).

Since Rohit is injured, BD should bowl spinners now. Don't give him pace to work with.

40 runs are needed from 3 overs.

Thakur chahar hooda axar are Indian cricketers from the 90s. Good for nothing

Rohit Sharma has really had a torrid time ever since he got the captaincy.

Struggled with his own form and fitness and even the team has done poorly.

Brainless captaincy yet again. Why would you bowl Mehidy/Mahmudullah overs now? These should've been completed before 40th over. This is the 5th/part-time option.

Bangladesh made this game closer than it should've been. Those catches should've been taken.

Four from Rohit.

16 are needed from 4 balls.

Please Rohit hit two sixes ..haven’t seen BD fans crying in the aisles for a while now

Guess who deserves this humiliation for hyping up the Indian talent to the moon?

India still remain a talented side but not as talented as a certain poster likes to believe

Ah! What a match yet again. Rohit played well, but was a little too late. I must say Mustafiz is one of the best death bowlers in the world. Nerves of steel.

🏏 This second successive series win at home in ODIs against The Mighty Indians does not come as a surprise at all. I have said it before and I will say it again, 🇧🇩💪🏽 Bangladesh are a different 🐅 beast in ODIs. And specially at home we are almost unbeatable! Since mid 2014 in over 8 years we have only lost a single bilateral ODI series which was a 1-2 defeat against England. (A series we lost from a winning position) In this period we have won series against the likes of South Africa, India, Pakistan, West Indies, Sri Lanka etc.

Well done to BD
My second team after Pakistan

India's ODI team seems a total mess. I can't see them winning next years WC, in 2011 they were a cert for it

Not really....almost lost the game by conceding 20 runs to an injured Rohit Sharma

Before every 50 over World Cup India would always win every bilateral series and enter the world cup as a big favourite to win the cup. Everything has changed now India is going to the world cup as an underdog!

Laid back approach after given the captaincy, people in power promised him to lead the side in 2023 CWC in India..
What else can expect, another Sarfrazi mindset..

Congratulations to Bangladesh for beating India and winning the series.BD need to improve it’s batting, the bowling is pretty good now.Self-belief and confidence are important too to win matches.I think this series win will boost BD’s confidence.

Hey Mamoon where are you brother?

You can rest assured him and joshila type won't show up. Just few days ago Mamoon was using terms like tremendous, marvellous etc terminologies for Indian limited over team while mocking Pakistan, the usual. Losing series against Bangladesh is humiliating.

Congratulations to Bangladesh, fought well and didn't give up. Only if they could replicate similar performance outside of Bangladesh that will do world cricket a good favour. Want to see competitive teams all around.

Even injured Rohit hit 51 off 28 but the Last 3 players sucked out the entire momentum by playing tuk tuk
Thakur - 7 off 23 ,
Chahar - 11 off 18,
Siraj - 2 off 13

Thanks bro. I really don’t think there is any lack of confidence there in the ODI side. We are also playing without our best bowler ( Taskin ) and best batsman ( Tamim ) in this series. We may not know how to play T20 or Tests but ODIs is something we can play.

No they will not be underdogs lol. We already know that Bangladesh are beast at their home, when ODIs are concerned. India will still be one of the favourites to win CW 2023 because it is played in India.

Congratulations Bangladesh.

Commiseration India.

Only pathetic bowling could have lost that match in the end. But credit to Rohit he smoked the bad balls well.

BD stand in captain cannot do what his predecessors all done, go with 2 pacers in ODI’s, leaves you with less bowling options. Mahmudullah is a part timer and doesnt even bowl regular now, risky. Must go with 3 pacers. This is why Saifuddin is important player for BD being pace allrounder he can bat, instead of Shanto who is clueless his technique is awful. Is Saifuddin can bowl 4-6 decent overs on a good day give him more, he can whack a few and adds more batting depth lower order.

ITS TIME. BCCI invites Bangladesh for ODI series. Long overdue. Someone mentioned on this site, I think BD only played 3 ODI’s in India in general and obviously no bilateral series with India. Even Aus invited BD for ODI series in late 2000s when BD was mediocre.

India skipper Rohit Sharma is likely miss the third ODI against Bangladesh after splitting the webbing between his left thumb and index finger during the second match of the series, here on Wednesday. Standing at second slip, Rohit was left with a bloodied hand when he dropped Anamul Haque off Mohammed Siraj in the fourth ball of the second over. He was escorted off the field by the team physio. He was rushed to a Dhaka hospital for scan and the affected area required multiple stitches during the initial treatment.

It is believed some further scans will be required to ascertain if there is a fracture. The Indian captain could be racing against time to get fit for the first Test against Bangladesh, starting in Chattogram from December 14.

"India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans," the BCCI stated in a media release.

Rohit did not take any further part in the second ODI. His left thumb was seen to be heavily bandaged and with stitches. Even if the stitches are opened within a week, he wouldn't be able to train before the start of the first Test.

Meanwhile, injury prone seamer Deepak Chahar has sustained stiff hamstring while bowling in the second ODI. He bowled only three overs from his quota.

Rookie pacer Kuldeep Sen, who made his debut in the opening ODI was ruled out of the second game due to a stiff back.

Bangladesh needs an ICC trophy to gain recognition
