Bangladesh cricket team in South Africa in 2017-18

The Bangladesh cricket team is scheduled to tour South Africa in October 2017 to play two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.

The bangladeshi fans who were complaining about lesser Test matches will now get enomorous doze of matches in 2017 with tour to kiwis and india are also slated with also hosting pakistan in mid year....

Very good news for Bangladeshi fans. One of the rare 3 match test series for us.It shows that they are coming of age in test too.Though this news yet not confirmed by BCB or any leading newspapers of Bangladesh.but if that happens it would be great.2017-2018 would be busy time for bangladesh cricket. Hope they perform better than 2015. Good luck tigers.

Yes , it is ! Not only for Bangladesh but also for every test nation !!! Last time Australia was there to get thrashed 5-0 ! Even without there best batsman ABDV & Amla ( for some matches) !!!!

SA is a beast in their own backyard no doubt . In fact they are now doing very well and as a team very well balanced. Not only Bangladesh but also every country would struggle there.

In test I don't think Bangladesh have any chance to even draw a match but gathering experience. If bd manages any draw or else it would be very good and very unlikely to happen.

In ODI also SA clear favorite. If bd manages 1 win,it will be great achievement. Series win would be dream here. But I think and hope that bd won't do worse than any other Asian country. Hope they will outperform other SC country this time. SA will have to earn their wins this time.

In t20i ,I don't know what will happen.

The best bd can make are
Test 0-2
ODI 1-2
T20i 1-1
Worse can happen fighting hard.

May be not as I think in that time period SA will be less busy with internationals than other years of that cycle and that's why they agreed to play such a huge (3test! 3ODI,2t20i) series with bd. Being free they have agreed,else it won't happen recently.

We would prefer test matches than more ODIs because we want to be better test playing nation now as we think now we are good ODI outfit but still very bad test nation and we are hungry for test and win. We need lot of test to get experience to be better test playing nation. We want more test.

That was an awesome performance by Pakistan.Junaid bowled brilliantly ,more than his tally of wickets in that series.This guy should not be in such a long wilderness.He is still way way better than Wahab and Rahat

When will pakistan tour Southafrica, it was a long long time, I cant even remember last series we played there? we are touring england again in 2018 and 2020, australia in 2016 and 2019, NZ in 2019 plus hosting australia for first time for 4 tests in UAE 2018 but when we will tour RSa or atleast play with them in UAE....

3 Test in SAF

Kuch Zayada ho Gaya But it's great, if true - SAF might rest/Test couple of their pacers while we'll get the chance to play with less than 3 spinners. We should target to take all 3 Test to day 5 (with proper XI combination) & compete in every session, may be win few sessions as well.

That series is followed by PAK tour, therefore team should be better prepared to take SAF. I would like to see PAK series to be 3/4 Test series.

I know - that's why I would like to see 3/4 Tests. Playing longer Test series is much tougher than those 5/6 weeks T20 Circus show. 3 or more Test series should start from home; otherwise we'll have to take 20 players in SAF - and somehow if they call BD for a 5 Test series within next 5-6 years; half of our FC players will need to apply for visa prior to the tour ......

You have to talk in past tense here.

ECB decided to limit foreigners in County, sometime in 1999 season I believe - take a 5/6 years spill over & then check PAK, IND, SRL in Test & ODI (& WC/CT) to U.K.; WI, SAF & ANZ.

After the 50s readymade generation was phased out, it started with a 5-0 in ENG & by the time PAK team had 8/9 County players - it reached to 0-1 at home to Kiwis & 0-3 in AUS (& that 3 had one from 578/8 dec. in 1st innings); Khuda meherban; political relationship stopped IND-PAK cricket for 18 years, warna....

In last 10 years or so; two stars are 2010 & 2016 UK tour - otherwise tours of AUS, BZ, SAF, WI was a bit bumpy ....... mashAllah even Robert Mughabe's hospitality was difficult to enjoy. And this'll be permanent if 35-38 years young 120km Phast bowlers keep maintains average of 15 & SR of 35 with their leathal staff in domestics.

As far I can understand we have 3 Test series - 2 Test in NZ, 3 in SAF & 1 in IND.

WE CAN do the worst is 0-3 in, SAF; 0-2 in NZ and a 0-1 in IND - it can't be worse than some other South Asian team in their last respective tours to these countries. In ODI 0-3 in AUS is a bit better than 0-5 - therefore already 2/3rd of the Izzat covered - In SRL & @ home - bikini jaroor bachh jayega.

Amla will smash a century in every ODI. De Kock is there. Faf might cash in too. Their batting in bilaterals is always very strong.

After the embarrassing outing India had there in their last ODI series in SAF, BD's turn to turn up as a formidable Asian team on their soil.

Think out of all 4 Asian teams they're probably the 2nd best equipped. Good attacking opener in Tamim, Imrul looked good vs Eng. It's mainly the choking at the end which kills them but facing SAF who knows.

Mustafiz needs to stay fit.

But great to see BD getting attention now after their rebirth last year.

Yes.. Imagine Bangladeshi batsmen vs Steyn(although he might be rested), Rabada and Philander on first day pitch of Durban or Johannesburg..

I think Saffers will dish flat decks so that the match remains alive till last day and their batsmen will easily pile 500+ runs there.

Now I am not harsh here on Bangladesh line up but those conditions are regarded as the toughest and their pacers love those conditions, so it's not easy for any SC team let alone Bangladesh to survive in those conditions. Batting collapses can happen with BD any time.

On the contrary I think sides like SA and Aus may underestimate and experiment with untested players by resting key players, and here in lies a golden chance for Bangladesh to sneak in a win or 2.
