Bangladesh dominate Australia in 4-1 T20I series victory

Shakib has given more runs in 3.3 overs than all the other bowlers combined have given in 12 overs :broad
 
Christian played a blinder here otherwise Bangladesh would have been favorites here too.
 
Hahahaha Shakib hit for 5 sixes and scored 15 of 26 balls. He is a below average all rounder overrated and overhyped by Bangladeshi fans. Take out his stats against Zim and Afghanistan and his bowling average is above 50, batting under 30.
 
Once again a poor batting performance by Bangladesh. Actually the worst batting performance this series.

Our openers have been poor as expected and our seniors failed miserably today with the bat. Hopefully next game they will bat well

I think he used to be a fantastic all-rounder. He is not the same anymore. Definitely not #1 currently.
 
Australia took their first win of the series with three wickets in hand after Dan Christian's 15-ball 39 eased the chase after the bowlers restricted Bangladesh to 104.

In what should have been a straightforward chase, Bangladesh complicated things for Australia with their resistance with the ball. However, a total of 104 on the board posted by the hosts after opting to bat first, left little to no room for the bowlers to force the result in their favour. They did make life difficult for the Australian batters who got over the line with just 3 wickets in hand and an over to spare.

Bangladesh encountered early troubles with a lack of timing and limited scoring opportunities. Opener Soumya Sarkar (8) was the first to perish - a cross-batted shot that induced the top-edge was comfortably caught by Alex Carey off Josh Hazelwood’s bowling.

Australia continued to have a stronghold over the run rate. Shakib Al Hasan struggled to break free. Batting at a strike rate of 57.69, Shakib could only manage 15 runs before edging it to Matthew Wade.

The introduction of Mitchell Swepson made things worse for the hosts. In his second spell, Swepson picked the wickets of Mahmudullah and Nurul Hasan, both for nought and trapped leg-before in successive deliveries.

A couple of cameos from Afif Hossain (20) and Mahedi Hasan (23) got the hosts to 104/9 with 14 off those coming in the final over. Andrew Tye and Swepson claimed three wickets apiece.

Dan Christian was given a promotion to bat at number three and turned the tables around for Australia who lost captain Wade in the first over. A day before when Australia failed to score 22 runs in the final two overs with Dan Christian at the crease, he turned around the corner blazing Shakib for five sixes in an over.

Subsequently, Ben McDermott was removed leg-before wicket by Nasum Ahmed for 5 runs in 12 balls. Then, Christian’s wicket soon followed. Mustafizur Rahman claimed his wicket after a brutal 15-ball 39 when Christian looked to slash the ball but found Shamim Hossain at backward point.

Australia were 49/3 at the end of the Powerplay and needed a gettable 56 runs in 14 overs. Bangladesh cracked open the game with a couple of breakthroughs - Moises Henriques (1) run-out and Alex Carey’s leg-before meant that half the visitors' side was back in the pavilion.

With 20 runs needed off the final five, the nerves were showing at the end but Ashton Agar's run-a-ball 27 took Australia to their first win of the series with an over to spare.

Definitely not a good all round cricketer, way overhyped and it got to his head and that's why we see all these off the field shenanigans.

There is an almighty up there and today sent bandha Dan Christian who humbled Shakib by hitting 5 SIXES in an over, gave away 50 runs from his 4 overs. Single handily lost Bangladesh the match.

Also, Riyadh needs to be dropped from T20 team.
 
DHAKA: Australian batsman Dan Christian said the Dhaka wicket being used for the ongoing Twenty20 series against Bangladesh is "not spectacular".

In another low-scoring game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Australia grabbed their first win on Saturday after losing the first three games.

The highest total so far is just 131.

Promoted at one-down, Christian hit a career-best 39 off 15 balls and piled into star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan with five sixes off one over.

However, despite Christian's explosive batting, Australia stuttered to knock off a meagre target of 104 runs and had to bat until the 19th over to claim victory.

"They have been exciting games for sure but I don't think that's why T20 was invented," said Christian after Australia's three-wicket win.

"Twenty20 was invented for sixes and lots of runs, in terms of that it certainly hasn't been spectacular."
Christian, the first Australian to hit five sixes off an over in a T20 international, still praised the competitiveness in the low-scoring series.

"It puts so much interest on every ball of the game, each boundary, trying to save one here it's become so important. They can have such a big effect on the game," he said.

Christian believes the wicket in Dhaka will not be ideal for his side's preparation ahead of the World Twenty20 in the United Arab Emirates in October-November.

"Having played a little bit in the UAE, say Sharjah, we get a bit dew at night time and it's quite a small ground so 220 can be a winning score there."

Australia will wrap up their tour with the fifth and final match of the series on Monday.

Absolutely agree what Christian says. T20 games should be favouring batsmen and par scores should be atleast 160
 
Riyadh, Mushfiq and Tamim shouldn't be in the T20 team. Shakib has lost it with the ball, he can be selected purely as a batsman that too I am not that comfortable.

Stop these rubbish comments about Shakib. In tests- he averages over 40 in batting, 32 with the ball if AFG and Zimb are deducted from his record. In ODIS he averages 35+ with bat and 36 with the ball. He is one of the best all rounders in cricket history.

He is nothing and Dan Christian showed him his place. Talking about T20s, at best Shakib al Hasan is a poor man's Robin Singh. Cope :sammy

You always talk without facts and stats, you just go with the motion of your mind. It decreases the value of your comment. Look once Mcgrath was hit 5 fours in an over by A. Razzaq, Broad 6 sixes by Yuvi, Warne was clobbered all around the park against India, Harbhajan was hit 5 sixes in an over by Afridi. It doesn't decrease their greatness as a bowler. It happens in cricket.

Bangaldesh have prepared worst tracks for this T20 series. Good winning strategy but doesn't make up for viewing from fans perspective where batting teams would crawl to 110-120.

Fans want to see team win.

If the track was flat and BD lost 0-5, I don't think fans would've been happy.

But, I agree that this is not an ideal T20 pitch.
 
Absolutely disgusting show from Aus.

Everytime I refresh the page Australia losing a wicket, WHAT THE HELL.
