Bangladesh dominate Australia in 4-1 T20I series victory

62 all out. Australia's lowest ever T20I total. That is a national humiliation.

Australia well and truly defeated in this series. Pitches might be bad but not 62 AO types.

All over.

Australia are all out for 62. Their lowest T20I score ever.

Bangladesh win by 60 runs and take series 4-1.

Congratulations.

Australian Cricket is in free fall. It seems as if nobody cares. Losing to WI, Losing to BD, main players like Warner, Finch, Maxwell always resting but playing IPL.

This is the 4th lowest T20I total ever by a Test-playing nation.

I'd like to hear that big mouth Ian Chappell talk now, they give it all that when Pak can't play on their pitches but when they get hammered on spin wickets they go silent.

Well done Bangladesh! Dhaka stand up baby!

Wow congrats Bangladesh. What a gigantic humiliations given to Australia.

Revenge for all the matches Australia won over Bangaldesh.

Good. Their arrogance and dismissive attitude to playing in places like Bangladesh and Pakistan means they deserve this humiliation.

Any Big 3 country going downhill is good news for cricket. They will be less inclined to throw their weight around as their box office drops.

I think it is revenge for Aussies not inviting Bangladesh and not touring Bangladesh enough. Haha!

Jokes aside, it has been a great series.

The weird thing about the Australian squad was how their 4 or 5 players made themselves unavailable for the tour after the "mental anguish" of being stranded in Maldives.

Aussies need to show more respect towards Asian teams. There's is more to Cricket than just the Ashes and the IPL. If you have a strong Second string side then fair enough to send them to smash Bangaldesh but don't see any point in sending a depleted side only to lose in this fashion.

Shakib Al Hasan's 4/9 and Mohammad Saifuddin's 3/12 paved the way for a 60-run win in the fifth and final T20I that ensured a 4-1 series win for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh presented an unwavering spirit to successfully defend 123 runs against Australia in the final T20I in Dhaka. The hosts bowled them out for 62 in the 14th over with the help of Shakib who snared four wickets alongside Saifuddin, who chipped in with three.

The opening stand of 42 runs between Mahedi Hasan and Mohammad Naim was able to provide impetus to the Bangladesh innings with a run-rate of over 10 for the first four overs but the middle-order couldn’t capitalise on the quick start.

After the fall of Mahedi’s wicket to Ashton Turner for 13, the hosts’ run rate nosedived. Then, Daniel Christian claimed his first wicket in T20Is since 2014 with the wicket of Naim who went back with a run-a-ball 23.

At the halfway mark, Shakib perished to Adam Zampa who trapped him leg-before for 11. The middle-order struggled to rebuild the innings and Soumya Sarkar (16), Mahmud Ullah (19), and Nurul Hasan (8) were all back in the hut when Bangladesh were 110/6 in 17.4 overs.

Nathan Ellis bowled the final over and exploited the conditions with the strategy of change of pace that worked wonders. He snared the wicket of Afif Hossain (10) who attempted the ramp but the slower delivery meant the ball could only travel till short fine leg where Mitchell Marsh took a comfortable catch.

In their chase, Australia lost two important players early – Dan Christian and Marsh – as they limped to 31/2 at the end of their Powerplay.

In a massive turn of events, the visitors were bowled out for 62 runs in no time as the batters batting below No.5 to 11 couldn’t cross the single-digit mark.

The collapse was prompted by Saifuddin who picked 3/12 in three overs while Shakib returned with a four-for that took him past 100 T20I wickets, making him the first men's player to score 1000 runs and pick 100 wickets in the shortest format.

I don't usually like Bangladesh much but it's really great to see them trouncing Australia here.

Congrats to Bangladeshi fans.

Bangladesh used the home advantage perfectly.

I hope Pakistan tour Bangladesh soon.It could be very good contest.

This is the most hilarious part. Australian cricketers would rather stay back home and do TikTok videos.

Congratulations team Bangladesh. Although I was not happy with the pitch (it will hamper our preparation for world t20) but I was more happy for our team presented a big humiliation to team Australia. Australia ignored us again and again in the past by cancelling tours. This time four of their main players didn't tour and they deserved this defeat.

No one in Australia will bat an eyelid at this result, the tour wasn't televised and white ball cricket outside the ICC events is considered an irrelevance by most Australians, including the administrators.

Bangladesh should tour Australia and play a 3 match test series there. They have a very good chance of beating this current Australian team. :inti

Not too long NZ toured Australia and got whitewashed there. 2019 December it was I think.

England couldn't beat Australia even at home in 2019 Ashes.

Only India and South Africa are capable of winning in Australia. Others aren't good enough :inti.

Congratulations to BD!

Can anyone please tell me why the several Aussie main players opted out?

What a disgusting performance!

Because they are snowflakes (that was intentional bro don't take it otherwise). They wanted to stay back home taking a 4 month long break from 4 week bio-bubble.

It's not snowflake. They hardly spent time with fam once cricket resumed in the pandemic. Now of course they cannot walk out of IPL so WI and Ban tours are easy options.

Bangladesh needs to produce sporting wickets, this series win with unsporting wickets won't help in the longer time frame. World T20 is only a few months away and Bangladesh needs to qualify first in order to compete with the big lads. Massive matches coming up against Oman, Scotland & Papa New Guinea. No teams should be underestimated, last time full strength Bangladesh team lost to Hong Kong.

For the sake of Bangladesh cricket, Tamim and Mushy shouldn't be in the T20 team. Liton and Naim can open the Innings.

It was a good series win 4 - 1 would have been 5 nil if not for Shakib who gave away 50 runs from 4 overs in the last match.

There could be lots of discussion about Aussie depleted team or bad pitch but one thing I can't forget this is mighty Australia team! I grew up watching cricket where Australia means toughest, meanest champion team. Even their Yellow jersey had evoked respect. I was probably in grade 7 in 1999 WC. They just thrashed Pakistan in final. Same thing happened for India in 2003 WC.

As one poster have said that no one in Australia will bother with this results. I know it's probably true but as a cricket fan I feel pity for the mindset of current Aussie players and management.

I am happy for Bangladesh. We are not good at t20 but surely this series win would trigger some believe in our players that they can be better team in t20 like they are in ODI.

Lol. How many times did India win against Australia in Australia?
Wake up, Indian fellas

This Australian team is so so poor, its actually unbelievable.

Full marks to Bangladesh but disgusting batting by Aussies through out the series.

Twice. Now tell me when was the last time Pakistan drew a Test match (not a series) in Australia? I'll answer, it was when Javed Miandad was still playing :)))

It really is a sad fact. Personally, I will never be happy as a Pakistan fan until the day we can draw it win a Test in Australia. Thats my only wish.

Why?

Australia produce horrible wickets to suit them. Bangladesh should produce what suits them. I am glad they battered Australia

This result is another fantastic example of what IPL is doing to international cricket.

Congratulations to Bangladesh but Australia had no right to fold this meekly.

What? Is that true? If yes, that’s long long ago.

Really? I always thought the first T20 was played in 2007 WC.

T20I (ICC) started in 2005 officially.
When Eng beat Aus, the matches were a novelty and probably not taken very seriously by either sides.

Every team should take advantage of their home conditions no doubt but the World T20 will be played on sporting wickets. Bangladesh got some young talents like Shoriful, Saifuddin, Afif L, Shamim who are fearless and gives it to the opposition. They need to be nurtured and developed properly, in dustbowls BCB is ruining these talents. Previously they destroyed Sabbir, Nasir to name a few. Mosaddek is feel like he's finished. Bangladesh needs to think about the big picture.

In 2020 IPL which was played in UAE, the first 4 leading wicket takers were pacers with Jofra Archer winning the man of the series. It would have been nice if Bangladesh prepared pitches which complimented both batsmen and bowlers, a pitch which produced 155 - 170 runs would have been good practice for the World T20. Starc, Hazelwood, Tye and Ellis would have provided good practice to our batsmen in sporting pitches.

I hope for the New Zealand T20 series we see better pitches and BCB thinks about the World T20 qualification in mind.

Yes but you should start small term. Bangladesh should make their home grounds places where they are impossible to beat, no matter by who. Then once that consistency and dominance is achieved then you can plan more.

Australia, even England at times, make flat beds to support their teams. I am glad Bangladesh did the same, Australia deserve this. Thinking they're good to not go to Asian countries.

Agreed, just hope we find some good pacers and consistent batsmen. It's been more than 20 years since Bangladesh achieved Test status but yet to produce a genuine batsman or a test class pacer.

Sorry for the taunting post. I felt provoked. Anyways, I have nothing against Pakistan cricket. If I did, I wouldn't be paying for a subscription for the ongoing Pak's tour to the West Indies on Fan Code app.
