On Monday, October 14th, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) player draft took place at a five-star hotel in Dhaka, marking a key step in team finalizations for the upcoming season.

The 11th season of the BPL will start on December 27th, running all the way till February of 2025.

Here is the list of Pakistani players selected for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025:

Shaheen Afridi praises Bangladeshi cricketers

Pakistani star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to play in the Bangladesh Premier League for the first time. He will play for Fortune Barishal this season. The star bowler arrived in Bangladesh on Friday and also practised with the team today. Later, he faced the media as a representative of the team. At that time, the star bowler showered praise on the Bangladeshi pacers.

Shaheen Afridi said Bangladesh has a great bowling unit now. Taskin is the leading bowler. Young Rana is doing very well, he has a lot of height and speed. Many more will come up in the future, they will also play red-ball (Test) cricket. The more they play red-ball cricket, the better they will improve.

Shaheen Afridi commented that even though foreign cricketers come to play in the BPL, Bangladeshis are the big stars here, saying, "To be honest, I am not the biggest star. Many Bangladeshi players are the big stars here. Tamim (Iqbal) is there, the entire national team is in Barishal. I am an ordinary player in the team. My goal is to help the team win by performing."

Regarding his adjustment to the BPL, he said, "We have played against each other a lot. Everyone knows everyone. The local cricketers play well, and they also know the wicket well, this time I will learn a lot that will be useful when I come to play in Bangladesh in the future for Pakistan."

The curtain of the 11th edition of the BPL will rise next Monday (December 30). Where Tamim-Shaheen's team Fortune Barishal will play in the opening match against Durbar Rajshahi. Barishal is the defending champion. This time too, they have built a strong squad with a combination of local and foreign cricketers.

BPL has become such a low class league, it never was on the level of PSL/CPL etc other middle class leagues but in 2012-2014 session at least this was a decent league. no performance in this league should be given any priority is selecting players for any country other than BD

Shaheen, Hasnain, Akif Javed, Muhammad Ali, Shahnawaz Dhani and Jahanabad should not be alowed to play.
The same for Saim Ayub and to some extent Haider Ali.

Shaheen Shah Afridi played for Fortune Barishals today and made 0/33 & 27(17) with the bat and ball for his side in their triumph against Durbar Rajshahi

Khusdil Shah also shined with the ball. He claimed 2/15 jn 2 overs and also earned Player of the match award for his all round performance.

Because...? There's no domestic going on other than final of QeA with random teams. Shaheen has been dropped from Tests and there is no other international commitment set to occur other than WI series, for which Shaheen won't be selected for.

Saim Ayub probably won't be able to participate in the tournament since he'll be in the squad for WI Tests. Rest should be good to play instead of just sitting at home.

On a side note, it seems pretty funny & damning that even in BPL, there are hardly any pure batsmen getting selected. It's all bowlers and all-rounders. Just goes to show you the sad state of Pakistan's batting crop at the moment.
 
Absurdity it is SSA playing in a C class league while national team dearly misses a premier fast bowler, no wonder as per Justice Cooke "Clowns work in PCB "
 
Faheem Ashraf smashed a quickfire 54* runs off just 21 deliveries and took 1 wicket to lead his team Fortune Barishal to victory against Durbar Rajshahi in the BPL 2024.

Mohammad Nawaz, haider ali, Usman khan and Mohammad Wasim Jr will be in action now.
 
Mohammad Wasim, playing for Chittagong Kings in BPL 2025, today went for 39 runs in his 4 overs and no wickets.

Not a good outing I would say.
 
Usman Khan is also playing today for Chittagong Kings against Khulna Tigers and he scored just 18 runs off 15 balls... LOL

Haider ali also failed as well along with Usman Khan. Got a duck off 2 balls...
 
Mohammad Nawaz bowled a good spell today for Khulna Tigers against Chittagong Kings.

4 runs were over throws on penultimate ball . In innings of 200 plus he was fairly reasonable up to that point

Mohammad Haris playing for Durbar Rajshahi in BPL 2025 did not have a good day today... scored just 12 off 5 balls against Dhaka Capitals.

What is wrong with this guy??
 
Rangpur Riders' Khushdil Shah stunned Fortune Barishal with 3 wickets, conceding only 18 runs in 4 overs in BPL 2025.
 
Aqib said Shaheen has been rested, however he is playing in BPL, what kind of rest is this, SA was the best place for him to play tests,
 
Rangpur Riders' Iftikhar Ahmed impressed with the ball, claiming 2/10 in 2 overs against Fortune Barishal in BPL 2025, while Akif Javed, also playing for Rangpur Riders in the same match, claimed 1/13 in 3.2 overs.

Shaheen gets carried away.He needs to remain calm and bowl in the right areas.His pace dropped after he got injured but it is getting close to pre-injury days.Shame he can’t swing the ball.
 
Should Bpl performance be taken seriously not sure the quality of league is even worse than legends league

Usman Khan is playing one hell of an inning today so far. 79* off just 38 balls atm

Mohammad haris scored 32 off 15 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
 
Haider Ali contributed 19*(8), and Mohammad Wasim contributed 4*(5) with the ball, taking 2/24 in 3.1 overs, along with a match-winning knock from Usman Khan, who scored 123(62) to lead Chittagong Kings to a 105-run victory over Durbar Rajshahi."

Cricket is a funny game - stats has to interpreted according to context. I did saw some T20s today, just to watch Aziz's batting (no wonder, guy got a duck), but ended up watching Saif. BPL isn't the best yardstick, but yes he is connecting balls well - why not? We also need more right-handers in top order.

Saif has played 5 t20i, one against Malaysia and 4 against Pakistan and ind. He has scored 2 runs in 12 balls in this 4 games, he was not good in the Global league that rongpur participated and won. So before he plays the entire t20 tournament like the way he played last 2 matches I don't think I will get excited with him.

Performing in BPL also doesn't mean much..remember munim sahriar? Biggest flop in International matches
 
Worst T20 league with laughable batting talent and Pakistani bowlers are getting exposed even here. :facepalm
 
Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled a superb spell tonight, bowled 4 overs and took 2 wickets for 20 runs against Durbar Rajshahi.

Exactly. Just look at the foreign players pick up. Only a few of them have quality.others are just garbage.

Khusdil Shah 2 overs 14 runs and 2 wickets

Iftikhar Ahmed 1 over 8 runs and 1 wicket

All fo these guys playing today for Rangpur had a good out with the ball. Let's see what Iffi and Khushdil can do with the bat even though they might not get a chance to bat as target is not too big

I like Akif so I follow his progress & it's a good comeback for him after the horror show that his last match was. His pace is up but I'm not sure how accurate the speed gun is in the tournament. Man is clocking 144 kph regularly but let's wait a bit before making any conclusions
 
Jahandad Khan registered bowling figures of 3/18 in 3 overs, Shaheen Shah Afridi 1/40 in 4 overs and Faheem Ashraf ended his spell with 2/23 in 3.2 overs for Fortune Barishals against Sylhet Strikers in BPL's today encounter.

He had a poor outing in the last match.The pitch was very good for batting.Both teams score 200+ runs.He is still not the finished product.Needs to keep working hard.Good to see he is bowling with good pace.He clocked 147 in one of the matches.
 
Khusdil Shah's all round brilliance where he scored an unbeaten 27 off 13 balls and took 2/14 in 2 overs, led Rangpur Riders to victory over Dhaka Capitals.
