Bangladesh Tour of UAE (2025)

Parvez Hossain Emon gets his maiden T20I century. Came from 53 balls (fastest T20I century by a Bangladeshi).

Well played. :inti

BD - 185/6 (19 overs).

Parvez is part of our emerging team, and BD emerging team is can easily beat our national side in T20s filled with bunch of Shanto, Litton, Soumya, and whatnot.

So all these times, Rishad who is BD primary spinner had the highest amount of sixes. Just goes to show you how pathetic BD's legends were in T20s.

LOL.. Pakistan should be afraid of this team now... They are gonna beat them at home.
Lol. If PAK are scared of a team that narrowly beat 15th ranked UAE

Just play genuine talent like Faheem and Khushdil ahead of mediocrities like Jahandad Khan and you should be able to smoke them.

UAE need 29 runs from 2 overs. 4 wickets in hand. Can they do it? :inti

UAE - 177/6 (18 overs; target: 206).

One of the most retarded games I have ever seen. :inti

Many dropped catches. Many comical runnings. Mostly from Bangladesh team.

UAE prevailed in the end. Well played.

Skipper Muhammad Waseem’s explosive half-century powered the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to a historic win over Bangladesh in the second T20I of the three-match series at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday — marking their first-ever victory against Bangladesh in international cricket.

Batting first, Bangladesh posted a strong total of 205/5 in their 20 overs, thanks to a combined effort from their top and middle order. Opener Tanzid Hasan led the charge with a brilliant 59 off 33 balls, smashing eight fours and three sixes. He shared a 90-run opening stand with captain Litton Das, who contributed a steady 40 off 32 deliveries.

Towhid Hridoy then provided a late flourish with a quickfire 45 off 24 balls, which included three boundaries and two sixes.

Among the UAE bowlers, Muhammad Jawadullah was the most successful, taking 3/45 in his four overs, while Saghir Khan chipped in with two wickets.

Chasing a daunting 206-run target, the UAE sealed a thrilling win with two balls to spare, as Haider Ali sprinted for a match-winning couple off Tanzim Hasan Sakib, taking advantage of a fumbled throw from Towhid Hridoy.

Captain Waseem anchored the UAE innings with a sensational 82 from 42 deliveries, featuring nine fours and five sixes. When he was dismissed by Shoriful Islam in the 15th over, UAE still required 58 runs from 31 balls with five wickets remaining.

However, the middle-order held firm, with Haider Ali’s unbeaten 16 proving crucial in the closing moments as UAE edged out Bangladesh by two wickets.

For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain, Nahid Rana, and Shoriful Islam each picked up two wickets, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Tanvir Islam took one apiece.

This landmark victory helped the UAE level the series 1-1, setting up a decisive third T20I, which will also be played in Sharjah on Wednesday.

Waseem reflects on historic UAE triumph over Bangladesh

The United Arab Emirates secured their maiden international triumph over Bangladesh with a win in the second T20I in Sharjah.

After challenging Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three-game series, UAE went one better and stunned the Tigers in the second encounter by two wickets, thus tying the series 1-1.

This was their first win over Bangladesh across formats, and ensures that all will be at stake in the third T20I in Sharjah on May 21.

Skipper Muhammad Waseem led the Emirati effort during a stiff chase with a blazing 82 off 42, and was ecstatic at the outcome.

“I have no words. I am very happy we beat Bangladesh. Very happy with the performance. I was giving hope to everyone that we can chase this score because we know the conditions (in Sharjah),” Waseem said after the game.

Like the first T20I, UAE elected to bowl first, but Bangladesh batters led by Tanzid Hasan (59 from 33) and Tawhid Hridoy (45 from 24) ensured that the tourists got to 205/5 from their 20 overs.

Waseem took charge early in the chase, unleashing a flurry of attacking strokes to help UAE cross the 100-run mark in the 10th over. He finished with nine fours and five sixes during his time at the crease, and by the time Shoriful Islam got the better of him, UAE were just 58 away with seven wickets in hand.

“We were hoping to chase it, and I tried to play my natural game,” Waseem described his batting effort during UAE’s first successful chase over 200 runs in T20Is.

The losing captain, Litton Das believed the side were let down by their effort in the middle overs of the chase.

“Any loss is hard, but we still batted well on this wicket. Wicket was pretty good, when they batted, they had the favour of dew. We missed a bit in the fielding and the middle-overs bowling," he said.

The game was also a trying debut for speedster Nahid Rana, who gave away 18 runs in his very first over, and despite his two wickets was taken for 50 runs across his spell. The seamer, however, did make a comeback of sorts in his final over, giving away just six runs and picking a wicket to ensure Bangladesh got back in the contest briefly but Dhruv Parasher and Haider Ali managed to see the hosts through the line.

“When you play on this type of ground, which is small and with dew a factor, you have to calculate and plan,” Litton empathised with his bowling group.

“What Rana did before,” The Bangladesh skipper added. “We were expecting more from him. You can have good days and bad days. We will sit and talk and come back.”

While a loss against UAE is definitely disappointing, we have to remember it is the T20 format. A format where associates often beat Test teams. UAE also beat New Zealand last time NZ did a tour in UAE.

BD have to move on and focus on the upcoming tours. They have lots of cricket this summer (BD-Pakistan T20 series, BD-Sri Lanka full tour in Sri Lanka, and T20/ODI series against India at home).

:inti:inti

Yes, at least they are preparing now by making these tours. The loss dont matter as that wasnt BD main bowlers or team that too under lights with significant dew.

Yes. Losing to UAE at Sharjah which is not a venue known to be chasing friendly is nothing to worry about.

Until you started losing T20Is during daylight to the likes of Brian Masaba's Uganda, there's still evidence of talent in Bangladesh.

After all Rangpur Riders did win the nobody globally cares Cup.

The Global Super League is an international club cricket tournament, organized by Cricket West Indies. The inaugural season is being held in Guyana, with 5 club teams from Australia, Bangladesh, England, Pakistan and the West Indies, with teams invited from the domestic competitions Twenty20 Big Bash, Bangladesh Premier League, T20 Blast, Pakistan Super League and Caribbean Premier League respectively.

What a useless pathetic team Ban is and has been. If any other team had received the resources they received, they would be a much better team. Lost to UAE here, lost a T20 series to USA as well. Hopeless. Was a travesty that they qualified for the 2025 CT and teams like WI and SL missed out..

There should be a case study on Bangladesh Cricket. Apart from a few surprises here and there, they have been absolutely hopeless since inception.

Look at Afghanistan, Ireland, Netherlands competing neck to neck in shorter versions of the game.

Naagin dance on the streets of Dhaka and Mirpur may help. Make Athar(the great) coach of Bangladesh:ROFLMAO:

These losses against minor teams are not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. I am absolutely glad these tours are finally happening in T20s. Previous administration were a joke always targeting next world cup lol.

Surprisingly BD has one of the highest win/loss ratio in the last 2 years. So they are finally starting to put some efforts into T20s. Remember BD used to lose against likes of Hong Kong in T20s not so long ago.

Yeah but 1st match centurian didn't play despite he was fit.Ban did a lot of bad fielding but they could defend the total if they were in full force

Haha. Bangladesh 71/7 in 11 overs . Last year they lost the series against USA and now most likely lose against UAE. 🤣 :kp

Bangladesh are ranked 10th in both white ball formats. That's beyond pathetic.

UAE win the 3rd T20I and win the series 2-1.

Congratulations.

I believe this is UAE's first ever series win against a Test nation.

:inti:inti:inti

So, both USA and UAE beat Bangladesh in T20 series.

Disaster. :inti
If BD dont take T20s seriously its going to get smacked around by Uganda next. Uganda are a pretty decent team.

Even though BD lost, glad the series happened and they got used to UAE conditions for future tournaments there. Decent batsmen are coming through now though compared to before, and when our full strength bowling with Taskin/Fizz comes back we should be good.
