What's new

Bangladesh v England | 1st Test | Chittagong | Oct 20-24, 2016 | Day 4

Need some sleep, but my head is like boiling - also need to see Mou getting own medicine from the Italian.

Cook chickened out :ahmed

No he didn't, his team bowling strength are pacers so naturally in such a crunch moment he'd want to resort to them. But even though this match was dragged until this point, I firmly believe that Bangladesh would win this hands down tomorrow.

Book mark this post and quote me later bro

I will bookmark this and congratulate you tomorrow.

And you will see plenty of chicken Cook this year. :)

Damn it, wished Mehdi atleast scored some runs. He was our 2nd best batsman in U-19 World cup and has 40 FC average.

But hey, pressure times. He needed to get his groove in first.

Win or lose, this was an epic fight by Bangladesh. Going on to chase 286 on a minefield!

Shabbir needs to say to himself tomorrow that "there are 90 overs tomorrow, and that I will get the 25 or so runs bit by bit, and play most of the balls per over" the key is PATIENCE!!!

I thought MMHS said earlier this wasn't a minefield :20: ???

Its the end of the 4th day, and the pitch is obviously playing some tricks like that Mushfiqur wicket. A lot of balls didn't rise up.

I am being honest, while we have our fair share of hearbreaking losses, i won't be heartbroken if we lose this.

Its because we nearly pulled of a miracle. We still can. Chasing 286 on a turner on 4th day would be difficult for even the best batting sides in the world, and Bangladesh being able to achieve this would be sensational.

We need to go out there knowing we have nothing to lose. Even if we lose, we can take pride, people around the world will still praise us. But England dont want to lose, as it will butcher their confidence and their ranking points.

I think I can safely say that Bangladesh is a better test side that Windies atleast. We will soon reach 8th position :yk

Rant was pretty decent until here !! I don't know why did you write this but I guess the scars over all those years still haven't completely healed.

In no circumstance should you settle for second best - Never !! I grew up from the late 90s so whenever we took to the field there was this belief of winning no matter who we were facing (Yes that included an ATG Australia side as well)

Moral victories, praise by other all this is plain old rubbish. You compete to win, simple as !!

Lol, right like the ones who study all night long before the exam ( to make up for not studying for the whole Semester)

And such people actually pass the exam.

If not for last minute studying, I would have failed all exams.

Obviously I badly want Bangladesh to win, I back Bangladesh to win.

However, the possibility of a loss is always there and should that happen, we must still try to comfort ourselves knowing that we did really hard. The belief on winning will be there. These days, I don't want Bangladesh to lose against any side in ODIs, not even to India. A loss is a loss. The mentality will grow in tests as well

You will go 8th if you win the series 1-0/2-0.

According to the rankings predictor, a series win by any margin will take Bangladesh to #8. (Assuming West Indies will lose 3-0 to Pakistan)

Well then, we need to win the match tomorrow for that.

Its a pressure moment, Sabbir is a clutch player, Taijul can bat. Shafiul has a test 50 and has won us a match against England with the bat in a world cup, Broad will remember this.

Its upto Sabbir. If he can pull it off then it will regarded as

-best clutch knock on debut

Also, it will go down as one of the greatest chases of all time. 286 on a turner is difficult.
