True, but lack of firepower at the death is a worry. Hope Rizwan fires again. This is why Sarfraz should not open.
 
May I know the reason for the sudden hype for Rubel Hossain or are the Bangladesh commentators overly praising him. If anybody should be praised it's Taskin Ahmed who's bowling MUCH better than Rubel Hussain
 
May be we need Batting coach from Bangladesh to play power shots. Our batting coach is too defensive just like Waqar.

Yes he's failing to convert but he's not brainless like Umar or Maqsood. It's only a matter of time before he gets a big one.

That's not entirely true, Harris got out many times at trying to play brainless get out of jail shot, even against Auses ( Johnson just got slip, change the side, almost announce what he is going to bowl, he hit a brain **** shot). In every match he got a start, his innings stuck after 40-50 balls, his shots are very limited, horrible against short ball, never looks like going. If batsmen doesn't improve as he faces more ball, that's bad. It also means he is not learning from stay at wicket.

He is also at sea against spin, which was big disappointment for me, best middle order batsman in domestic circuit and cannot rotate strike against spin?

He is better suited for test, where in next few years, he can develop more shots ( cut and pull specially). His defense is good, quality bowling does not bother him. But no game plan as to where runs are going to come from.

Yeah that's all true, it's sad state of affairs :afaq But credit also should be given to BD, they really have improved as a side, and I think this current Bangladeshi team would trouble a lot of teams at home.

And also I think we're still pretty much in this game, we shouldn't lose hope that easily :D
 
Our batting could have been really solid had Azhar opened in presence of Misbah. These two would have put up 100+ partnerships in every game with Umar, Afridi, Maqsood and Sarfraz adding quick runs at the death.
 
Harris has such a strange grip, too rigid for my liking, and with such a technique you can't use your wrist well, as we can clearly see we play ball toward mid wicket or fine leg vs pace bowlers instead of rolling his wrist he roll his whole body, and also play away from body too often too early with no feet movement, with such big shortcomings he is not gonna last too long vs decent pacers, and also a poor player of spin, and if he is our supposed best bat than we can imagine our overall standard of batting and where we stand, really sad to see.

Yes it's surprising to think that Azhar didn't play in the ODI side under Misbah - given that Misbah actually favours Azhar.
 
The fact is we are so stubborn with our thinking the management doesn't adapt. Haris should have come 1 down knowing there was a left arm spinner bowling at the other end just to counter the planning.

We banked on the wrong guy (Shehzad) for 2 years. Investment wasted.

He indeed played matches under misbah. remember all those tuk tuk innings in the losing cause. Yes it was all under Misbah. :misbah

Azhar is totally a different player without Misbah. great riddance IMO
 
Just woke up. What a terrible start. No changes in the batting line up it seems. Waqar's ego is too much

Shehzad isn't as bad as people make him out to be. Barring that WC he was one of Pakistan's most consistent players. And was one of few who actually hit centuries which Pak seem to lack these days

Yeah it's kinda upseting not seeing him on the top again. For a spinner he reminded me of a fast bowler. I loved his arrogant demeaner on the field. Made him stand out in my opinion.

If you wanna play a reverse sweep at least try to put more power on the shot so the keeper can't catch the ball. Pathetic shot.

We really need someone in our cricketing setup (coaching staff and team tactician etc etc) who is a non cricketer because clearly the ones that have represented us at the highest level are brainf**ked to realize simple things such as a batting order or selecting players who are proper batsman. I mean if the common fan at PP can see that the batting order is messed up and Sarfarz is clearly not an opener why can't people who have played the game at a very competitive level see these things ?????? Fundamentally we are so messed up right now it isn't even funny anymore. Why would you play Hafeez if he can't bowl. We all knew that his place in the team is only merited if he is able to bowl and you ask any Tom Dick and Harry on the street this question and he will confirm the above fact.

In addition Ajmal just walked into the team without any check and balance. Was he as good as before and if he was how did they know it ??? How many matches did he play before this decision was made ????????

Another thing I am so confused about is the fact that Sami and Babar were picked to do what exactly???? If we only wanted them to warm the bench then we could have taken any TTF for that matter. We are destroying whatever talent we have by having brainf**ks at every point in time and seriously I am really fed up of all this right now. I have been supporting this team through thick and thin but enough is enough I've had it and I am reaching a point where either I seriously am considering to beat someone in the PCB who makes all these idiotic decisions.
