Guys, this is what is ailing a lot of teams today. Teams like Pakistan seem to be more affected. No Idea why ?

I don't think batting collapses were as prevalent in the previous era.

What has changed ? Apart from player temperament, I cant think of anything else.

What has changed? The way Fakhar and Safi came back, a couple of years ago we would have been all out for 100 in that situation...You have to give credit where it's due

Obviously other than the technique of modern day batsmen, I think this is the first time a pitch like this is made in UAE where ball is actually turning from day one. Atleast this pitch will produce a result.

It's nothing new, even the best Pakistan teams have had far more embarrassing displays than 57/5

On a more positive note, if Lyon can do this to Pakistani superstars on a Day 1 pitch, then Yasir should eat this depleted Aussie batting alive later on. :yasir

Pakistan batting has traditionally not been that good bar a period in the 70's maybe, and a short time in the 90's when you had Yousuf, Inzamam and Anwar in the top order. Even in the past the team relied heavily on their bowling attack to get them out of trouble in low scoring games. Now the bowling is also ordinary so the batting is being exposed more.

Surely this is just normal for Pakistan. And numerous teams in fact. Take it from an England fan that 57/5 is a not uncommon sight!

Changed??

Nothing has changed. It's just that MisYou were hiding the faults of this team.

If anything changes, it would be better for Pakistan and world cricket.

The difference is Pakistan don't have the super heroes that are MM Ali and CR Woakes waiting in the wings to save the day from 57/5.
