"Because of the overseas players, I will definitely go to Lahore for the PSL final" : Shahid Afridi

"I have waited very long for a match to be held in Pakistan. This was a very good opportunity for me to play a match in front of my own people, especially since this was a final of a prolific tournament. If this was something I could control as a human being, then I would have done so."

"It's good that the final is being held in Pakistan so I'm praying to God that everything goes well."

"I have some stitches on my hand and there's quite a bit of swelling. I'm taking some medication."

"It was a catch but I wasn't expecting the ball to come that fast. It was a strong shot by Pollard, he's a very powerful hitter."

"I just returned from Dubai to Karachi and I didn't have plans for going to Lahore but the foreign players are coming with the rest of the team. I had told Sammy, etc. earlier that I would take care of them and they don't need to worry about anything so he had said thanks. So because of the overseas players, I will definitely go for the final."

"As long as I have some cricket left in me, I will continue to play in the leagues for all of my fans and my followers."

"Peshawar Zalmi's main goal isn't just to win the trophy. We have unearthed a lot of talent and have played 2 or 3 new players which very few franchises have done."

"We have had a lot of star cricketers in Pakistan and they haven't gone out with the respect which they deserved. In other countries, even their prime ministers go for their farewell games."

that's poor taste. so he means he won't go to final if foreigners not available even though his team reaches final?

Drama Baz always wants to emphasize 'Me Me Me' in some way or the other...foreign players are just an excuse to keep himself propped up!

Some of your followers also wanted you to pay more attention to match situation rather than cross hit the ball on the leg side up in the air at every opportunity. You never cared for them all through your career and always did as your heart desired; why should we believe you do anything for the fans?

He is making it sound as if he is not trying to squeeze every little penny from the last bit of his creer; I bet he will be playing till he reaches maturity of a 16 year old, which might never happen:yk3

That's Afridi for you. Here too he is doing lots of dramabazi with words.

He's also lying that he played youngsters.

Islamabad played the most and those players are going to the national team now.

Love him or hate him. You all know that the roar from the stands would have been unprecedented if and when Afridi came out to bat. Afridi has personality and presence. A charisma. Something which nearly all of our "greats" lacked. Not a fan of Afridi but the PSL final is many times poorer because of his absence.

Afridi's absence is a bigger loss than all of the foreigners combined.

I think you aren't very well informed on the matter. Afridi suffered a severe hand injury in the match versus Karachi Kings on Friday and had to get 12 stitches to close the open wound. This has rendered him unfit to participate in the Zalmi vs Gladiators match.

You would think he'd be there to support his teammates and a franchise he was the captain of in the prior year, regardless of who is wearing their jersey.
